Bacon Stew recipe
1 package bacon. Slice into 1" segments
1 package (1.5 lbs) beef tips (cut up into 1" cubes or so)
1 largish potato, cut it up as ye like
2 carrots, again cut it up as ye like
1 onion, diced nicely.
1 green pepper, diced nicely. (cut out the heart of it if you like)
6 oz. A1 Steak Sauce
4 Tbsp of salt
2 Tbsp of Caribbean jerk seasoning
2 Tbsp of any steak or pork rub/seasoning you may have around the house.
1 package of your typical stew seasoning/pot roast seasoning you'd buy at the local grocery store.
Fry up the bacon just enough so it's what you would consider "about 75% done" Dump the grease in a tin can or in your neighbor's yard, whatever you usually do.
Toss everything into the crock-pot
Cook that mofo on high for 4 hours, and maybe a little bit more on low, say another hour.
Open lid and scoop into bowls. Serves 2 extremely hungry large men, or a family of 6.
Enjoy the awesomeness.

How much is 1 package bacon? 200g?
depends where you buy it, I buy my bacon from a butcher at the local farmers market, usually I get 2 lbs. But that might be a bit much for bacon stew.
Everything is better with bacon.
Hrm, I think my bacon package was 16 oz / 1 pound.
And it was AWESOME
And it was AWESOME
Sounds like a excellent recipe Leber. I printed it out today and we'll be making it soon. Thanks!
Yeah, I'll be trying this, too. :)
Oh the cholesterol and salt!
I'd throw the diced onion into the pan along with the bacon when it's about half done.

We all die sooner or later anyway, Whistler. Might as well enjoy it while it lasts...
