It looks alot like Air Rivals/Ace Online/Space Cowboy.
Now either they didn't use any Z axis rotation or they don't have any and I mean the lack of noticeable player controlled rolling.
This looks similar to Freelancer.

Looks like a graphically beefed up Vendetta Online played in third person. Even the botting looks the same.
This is getting a bit astray of the Rules of Conduct. We want people to stay here and support the interactive development of THIS game.
We can veer wildly off-topic, or you can lock it :D
I propose a talk about the peculiarities of Linear B.
For the record, the Taikodom website sucks (display errors with Camino), and you have to register to find out what platform the game is for. I'm assuming Windows.
Pfhail.

either way...Taikodom looks pretty cool at least graphics wise. if the devs got an artist on board I'm sure VO would riegn supreme.
anyways, VO is a bit rough around the edges and in places it feels raw but, its still a great game with even greater potential. its always changing, the developers are open to player input and suggestions, so open in fact that players can join the PCC and create mission trees.
so yeah, I'll stick to VO.

Yes, after "content" graphics are VO's greatest weakness. Remember when they got a real artist? We got a handful of awesome looking ships, then the guy went on to other things. It's amazing that the graphics are as good as they are with a team that doesn't include a professional artist.
Whistler, im trying to show you guys that you should atleast add some type of content soon.
Even if its only an outpouring of Hive Bots attacking a Nation Station or something.
Events and Content are what keeps a game running, i play VO because i wanna be ubang when Capships and 2-3 Man Heavy Fighters come out.

What a coincidence! I play VO to flare-pwn the shit out of pissant n00bs such as yourself, Equanimizer.
That works out pretty well, huh?

So sorry, I misunderstood your intent. Thank god you're here to point this out, otherwise we'd have to rely on the developer's newsposts and 85% of the content of the website for direction.
LOL Whistler, NOW who's making snarky posts?
Hahahaha.
Hahahaha.
When I saw you had replied, I knew what was coming.
Guilty.
Guilty.
Sad, really, that we know each other's forum habits so well, yet I've never had the opportunity to buy you a tequila in person.
That being said, SOMEONE has to keep a lid on Lecter's ego/spite/condescension/asshattery, lest it grow too powerful and destroy the fabric of spacetime. Glad it's Whistler and not me.

...someone say artist?
If VO just changed the star system backdrops it would immediately look cooler. Not much of a change, just less stars, more nebulae perhaps...
I'd like to help in some small way - (I already have a full time design job!) - but maybe I can help out.... a bit.
Assuming the backdrop is a sphere, can anybody tell me what size the artwork would have to be to work in-game?

I'm pretty sure it's a cube.
Also, if you look at the newspost, it looks like they're planning major graphical upgrades in the somewhat near future.

Fair enough
it's not like I really need to find stuff to do, LOL

It's made of squares, and at least 128 of them in a row. (Set your graphics low, and you can see them.) So, methinks it's a square.
