Descent II for Mac OSX
I've found a couple different solutions for playing Descent and Descent II on Mac OSX, but I can't get them to work. No matter how I manipulate the data files, all that happens when I open D2X-XL or D2XX Rebirth is that the icon flickers briefly in the dock then disappears with no error message or anything.
These were my favorite games about ten years ago (along with Hellcats over the Pacific), any help?

What version of OS X are you using?
I never got the ports to run, either, btw. I think your best bet would be to take a PPC computer, install Classic on it and run it in that (via OS X).

I got them running on OSX on an Intel mac, but I forget how -- there was a lot of convoluted work in Terminal getting SDL installed, that's about all I remember. (In the case of D2X-XL, that is.)
Blech. Terminal? I can't figure out terminal, but if you remember how you did it I can follow instructions pretty well. I'm surprised there isn't more help on the interweb! I searched for a long time.
I'm running OSX 10.5.2. I have an LCIII and a G3 somewhere in storage, but no monitor for either. I thought about buying a bunch of old PPCs, but it would be silly to do that just for one game. The reason I'd need several is that my brothers want to play multiplayer games, which used to be a regular event. These days we play DotA every Sunday, but it's getting a bit old.

Woohoo! I got it to work, and I didn't have to touch Console! If anyone needs help with this in the future (Mac only, I don't know Windows well enough), feel free to ask.
