Selling a server
Well, I'm strapped for cash and am leaving the career field involving servers and the like. So I'm selling a pretty well specced server that's in good condition.
Dell SC1430 Case
1x 1.86 GHz Xeon Dual core processor (the motherboard has room for two processors)
3 Gigs of Fully Buffered RAM (2x 512MB sticks, 2x 1GB sticks)
1x 250 Gig SATA Hard Drive (The case has room for at least two "naturally" and at least one to three more if you convert the CD drive area)
1x Gigabit Ethernet card, built in
16MB ATI Graphics card (It's the Dell SC1430 default one. Also, some video cards work with a PCI-E x16 to x8 converter)
http://www.dell.com/content/products/productdetails.aspx/pedge_sc1430?c=us&cs=04&l=en&s=bsd
This is meant as a SERVER COMPUTER. It *CAN* work as a PC, with *ALOT* of work and fiddling with graphics cards. I do not recommend it but for the price tag, I can understand why some people would be tempted to try.
This server retails from Dell for $750 + upgrade costs (at least $150) + shipping (at least $50) for a total value of about $950.
I will sell this server for $400 + cost of shipping.

Well, that's a steal.
Too bad I don't need a server. I'll ask around.

Sell it to Guild. They could pretty clearly use more servers.
Moldy - if you itemize your tax deductions, donate that thing to a local nonprofit and write it off for the full purchase price. (Tip: Get a signed receipt.) You'll probably come out ahead on taxes next year.
If you don't itemize, then I'll keep looking for a buyer.

I doubt Moldy has enough deductions (even if he's self-employed and thus doesn't have the % floor to deal with) to make itemizing better for him than the standard deduction.
Let me put it like this: I plan to make less than 10 grand this year. So all my tax deductions will come back to me in one fat check next year.
And I sort of need the money at the moment. Have some things to take care of.
