PREY This Weekend!
The publishers are practically giving it away this weekend on Steam. 75% off. I don't think I've ever paid less than $5 before for a decent FPS. I wonder if 3D Realms is desperate for publicity right now with the latest letdowns in their Duke Nukem franchise... I played through this entire game throughout the day today, and it is very reminiscent of Duke.

Lone macho man with big guns and one-liners?
Naw!
edit: And I wouldn't waste $5 on that pile of code.

Somebody gave it to me a couple of years ago. I enjoyed it. The Native American theme was kinda cool.
Where it was reminiscent of Duke was mostly that Your character vocalizes (It's not the same one-liners -- Duke was a man of ego), and also the environments were very Duke-like. 3D Realms likes putting things into the game to sidetrack you from your mission, like slot machines, radios, and other interactive things. Also the whole save-your-girlfriend-from-the-aliens plot is very Duke.
Are there strippers in it?
No, unfortunately. just some naked chick that looks like a Borg queen.
the hypocrisy is killing me.
I seriously thought this thread would be about the crappy Michael Crichton book. That guy used to be so good, now he's lazy. I've read Sphere more often than any book except Ender's Game, and of course there's Jurassic Park, but these days he's just high concept low effort.
That's my opinion no one asked for, not on the topic of this off-topic thread.

I didn't like Prey very much, it felt... annoying. Graphics were good, even great, but somehow the way damage was done seemed very deliberate and I did not like the 'you cannot die' thing. It made battles way too easy.
