I have windows on my macbook pro. It's how I found out that I really, really don't like to have to use windows. Oh well.

Then google, because there is a way. You're just not looking hard enough.

That's the equivalent of logon, not bootscreen....

Oh, right. I remember back in OS9 and before, ResEDIT could change anything anywhere, and I could even make new graphics for some games. In fact, that's how I got a sad mac on our family Mac Classic, by making a copy of the system folder (so I don't screw up anything important) and forgetting to hide the old system folder so the computer wouldn't get confused. I don't know if ResEDIT works in OSX or if there's something else, but I don't have time for that kind of thing anymore, sadly.

Cunjo, believe it or not, I googled for about half an hour before giving up. The problem is that I did not find a guide or an app that could do this for me under OS X. The logon screen was well-known to me (but I stopped using it due to stability issues).

ResEdit is not existent anymore under OS X, but there are similar programs (Resorcerer and ResKnife). However, Apple does not recommend using or changing resource forks anymore (as it did with ResEdit).

Okay, I'm stupid. Wrong search terms.

Here is a hint as to how you can change the boot image for intel macs. But it seems that, like I thought, it is not exactly the easiest thing to do (unlike changing defaultdesktop.jpg in your CoreServices Folder).
