Haha, some people I showed it to in IRC did the same thing. This was before saving and multiple mining beams!

umm any way to buy alot of cargo upgrades i really dont want to click the button 1500 times
Aug 21, 2007 smittens link
Yeah you should put in a way to buy things in bulk

Pfff, back when we didn't have a limited amount of upgrade space we had to click more than ten times that amount after a while, lnh...

Make a macro for your mouse!

i might have to or ill have to click alot.

also why is anthracite and coal listed separately, anthracite is a type of coal (the harder hotter burning coal, commonly found in the Pocono Mountains in Pennsylvania), perhaps you meant bituminous coal (the softer colder burning coal, mined in the western United States, including the Crandall Canyon Mine).

Cute game. A bit pointless. After having 8 lasers at 600 speed, and 2500 cargo, you basically vaporize any roid in sight. It's an exercise in left mouse button clicking, after a while.

But funny. For around an hour. Then, you start thinking that the 120 prospecting missions aren't TOO bad after all.

Haha.

To avoid clicking, you can use the tab key to select buttons, and hold down your enter key instead of just clicking constantly.

It saves now?! Awesome!

Thanks for the autoclick feature, SL.

I could have saved around 6000 clicks of my mouse lifetime, and the following CTS that crippled my right hand... :D

heh dozed off with my finger on the enter key, one of my beams now has 11,000 more range upgrades than the others
Aug 23, 2007 Surbius link
yeah, get them all to about 2,000 and you can mine while at base.
Aug 23, 2007 look... no hands link
yea thats what i do, the one i can mine several screens away from base, its at nearley 13k i think

is there anyway you can manually edit the save game file for me? i need to buy 8 million cargo upgrades. i estimate it would take me 2 days to do this simply setting a shotshell on the enter key

You can edit your save file using something that can edit LSO files.
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Local_Shared_Object

The file should be called "mining_save.sol" To change your cargo capacity, just change the variable maxCargo. If you want to edit your mining beams, the array equipSlots contains that info. The order of equipment values is:
type - The type of item in the slot, currently only "mining" and false.
range - how far the item can reach
rate - how quickly it mines
x offset - where, relative to the ship, the beam x origin is.
y offset - same, but y
item's target - what it is currently mining

Of note, if the credits variable does not exist, or is lower than or equal to -1, the game will think you don't have a save.

uhm, i dont get it.

i dont see any keyboard commands listed. i click on rocks, nothing happens. the only commands i can figure are the arrow keys.

is my computer too old? how do i get to the pause screen?

im on mac osx 10.3.9 on an 12" 350mhz ibook. flash player 9. safari. i have a logitech mouse and run on 60 hz 115 VAC power.

You can press F1 to bring up a list of buttons and what they do, or fn-F1 if Mac OS is using that button. I'll reproduce the buttons below.

Arrow keys to move, down to brake.
C to target closest.
V to target in front.
A to mine an asteroid. (Pentagons are the asteroids)
Enter/Return to dock. (The large triangle is the station)
P to pause.
J to bring up the jettison screen.

In order for the flash object to receive key presses, you may have to click on it first.

ok. well for some reason there is no text whatsoever on my screen.
even when i dock, i see some buttons pop up, but no text on them, so i have no idea what they do.

when i hit 'f1' all i see is a pentagon and a triangle.

i do enjoy saying that word, 'pentagon', though.

the only text that actually shows up is when i hit 'j', i can see the words 'jettison cargo'. then a bunch of buttons and boxes, but no text on the buttons or by the boxes.
