I have been a loyal supporter of Guild Software and and Subscriber to Vendetta for over two years now. In my entire time here, I have noticed one group of players and one group of players only who have been a constant and unrelenting nuisance to the entire playerbase, and those players are Emo Douchebags.

I know of several players who have either unsubscribed from VO or refused to subscribe in the first place for the sole reason that Emo Douchebags have ruined the experience for them. I have also heard from several other subscribers who testify that had they met an Emo Douchebag before they had become paying members, they never would have subscribed. Their whining, pissing, moaning and bitching are detrimental to the enjoyment of the playerbase and the prosperity of the developers.

Emo Douchebags go against everything I believe in.
I believe in STFU and playing the goddamn game, Emo Douchebags believe in constantly complaining about vague and undefinable "offenses" called ganking, spamming and running... while constantly defending their own use of those tactics.
I believe in combat etiquette, Emo Douchebags believe in continual, soul-shriveling annoyance.
I believe in helping new players, Emo Douchebags believe in flaming and griefing others for not living up to their own subjective care bear quotient.
I believe in supporting the VO playerbase, and Emo Douchebags believe in driving them away, with their own personal whiny cries for attention.
I believe Emo Douchebags need to go.

OK, this is going too far. I attack those that attack me. If you want to fight me, you can ask. If I agree to a fight, then I consider it fair play. If you attack me without my consent, then you are the one that has violated the terms of fair play. I will gank you. I will drive you from my domain. I will kill you at my convenience. When you choose to engage in non-consensual combat, you gave up your right to complain about non-consensual combat. Your complaints are hypocritical. Your not complaining about being attacked, you are complaining about not being able to be the biggest bully. Not every one can be the biggest bully at one time. If your going to insist on being the biggest bully, on threat that you are going to quit, then go ahead and quit.

Your opening topic is about banning emos. but it isn't really the emos that do the most crying. it is make pretend emos. emos cry about pirates. emos cry about unsolicited aggressions. but what we have here, is players that go out and pick a fight, and then start crying when they lose. i can understand the trader that cries pirate when someone blast his moth. but when a player goes out and shoots at someone, and then tries to pretend to be the innocent one when he gets stomped on, is just plain deceit. for a pirate to complain about being pirated, is just plain stupid. and for an aggressor to complain about getting his ass chased and boomed by those he initiated aggression against, is just as stupid. the emos know the score, and they sometimes cry about it. but if you look at who does the most crying, you will see that they are not real emos. they are fakes.

This this thread is about me, indirectly. Lecter obviously directed this post at the originator of the "Ban Roda" thread, which in turn, was directed at me. While lecter is presenting humor and/or sarcasm, the other poster was obviously quite serious.

And my point to lecter is, that the other poster is not a true emo. they are a wolf is sheep's clothing. they play the part of the emo until they have all the other competing wolves shot dead, and then they are the only wolf left.

Here is the weird thing : only a mere few days ago I learned of the word "emo". And I thought "wtf, I've been on the Inter-Nets since 1992 and I've never heard of this word."

Yes, I am a wolf, Roda, but I wouldn't don sheep's clothing, not even for your sake. As much as I personally detest you, this isn't about me, it's about the community.

My character is a cold-blooded killer, and apart from the facts that I stick around in fights I can't win and don't spam swarms at everyone, not that different from your own... however, I stay in character in the game. I don't grief people, and I certainly don't harass the new players. I believe the new players deserve both a fighting chance and the respect of the veterans, and I give them that (along with a swift kick in the rear if I catch them). But I don't drive them away... once they leave my domain, I stop. I don't pursue them to the far corners of the universe in a spam rag and harass them until they have no choice but to log off, because that's not a killer's behavior... that's an asshole's behavior, and out of character. And yet the problem is not what I think of him being an asshole, but what other players think... dozens of potential subscribers or paying members being driven away by his sophomoric behavior and lack of couth. I do everything I can to help this game and playerbase grow and prosper, and Roda stands in the way of that every moment he is online.

Yes, the /ignore feature is great for shutting up his boastful slander, but it doesn't do anything to stop his ragful of swarm missiles from meeting you while you're dueling, queening, or trying to dock. Nor does /ignore grant you the ability to catch him when he runs away, the moment you have him beat.

I was genuine in my offer to pay another subscription if he leaves... and no, that's not a bribe -- that's restitution, because I recognize that the developers need every dollar they can get, and that banning even one player would be harmful to their business... and while I am 100% confident that more players would stick around and more paying subscribers would result without his presence here, I felt it appropriate to give them something a little more concrete.

You fail to recognize exactly how different your character really is Keyser. I don't attack players that don't, and won't, attack me. I target players that have attacked me, or in a guild of players that have attacked me. I have even started pirating some pirates. But a newb can fly right by me without a care in the world. Traders pass by me day and night. While you specialize in preying on the weak, I specialize in preying on the likes of you. You act like your trying to do the newbs some great favor by getting rid of me, but I don't kill newbs, you do. You act like I chase players to all ends of the galaxy. Few players consider Sedina B-8 to be an end of any galaxy. It would be a greater favor to the newbs for you to quit, than me. Newbs wait for me to go through the wormhole first, just so they will have a shot of escaping the likes of you. I played this game for a long time when I was not a top fighter. I lost all the time, but I still played. I still lose plenty. But I still play. But your saying that if you have to face a situation where you can't be the biggest bully, your going to quit. well... I'm not the only power house around these parts. If I was gone tomorrow, you still would not be the best. Your pretense at honor is delusional, and your threat of withdrawal is a non event.

I find this funny... not so much that Roda is lying about / glorifying his interactions, but that he's doing so without first addressing the directly contradictory evidence already posted by others in the other thread.

Things like:

So when do players cease to be a "newb" (that you apparently leave alone, according to yourself)? is it when they shoot at you for the first time in their govcannon EC-89? or maybe because they're grouped with someone else who has? Months ago I created an Itani alt and flew around in Sedina at combat level 1. I vividly remember Roda as being the first player to attack me at the station, rather than waiting for me to get back to B-8. At level 1, I was swarm-spammed and station-killed by Roda Slane, repeatedly. Him claiming to "help defend the newbies from the likes of Keyser Soze" is some of the most hypocritical bullshit I have ever heard on these forums.
