Inferno OS
Would anyone happen to know about it? http://www.vitanuova.com/index.html
Also, OSX Server experience too. I just want generic ideas of the good the bad and the ugly :)

That's the one that's based off of Plan 9, right? If so, it's based off an operating system that was designed to fix all of the flaws in UNIX, and is thus reputed to be fairly awesome. I've never had occasion to use it, though. Not enough application/driver support.
As to OS X Server, it's just like any other *nix server, except with GUI configuration tools. If you're setting up a directory of any sort, it's greater. OpenDirectory = awesome, particularly when compared to the steaming pos known as Microsoft Active Directory. However, if you're doing web or database serving, OS X server isn't quite so great. Due to the fact that it has a monolithic-style Unix API layered on top of a microkernel, and because of the way OS X does scheduling, databases in particular are somewhat slow. I'd recommend a Linux (or other traditional *nix like Solaris) box. Also, OS X server sucks royally as a DNS server. Which is unfortunate because OpenDirectory requires a working DNS server to implement. So, yeah.

Well, as a server, driver support is an iffy thing in terms of need (I think, really new into this which brings me to...) The flashy (read: easy) GUI of OSX is what got me thinking about it. But Inferno looks pretty sweet, just... not much expertise out there on it. If I do find a fountain of knowledge on Inferno, I might try it. If not, I'll stick to Ubuntu Server. Thanks Rogue :)
