I have a high tolerance for speeding, and I like racing as much as the next guy, but stunts like this on public roads are inexcusable.

Eh. He's moving faster than the traffic flow, but there's ample room for him to change lanes safely and at that speed he was hardly cutting anyone off or forcing them to brake. Of course increased speed equates to decreased reaction time and increased stopping distance if something happens ahead of him, but whatever. Driver is hardly as much of a nuisance/threat to safety as drunks, idiots or otherwise spastic drivers who, though observing America's already disgustingly care-bear traffic laws, are still incapable of safely piloting a motor vehicle.
Yes, what Lecter says. That guy is not actually putting other drivers at risk as much as anybody who is 'safely' driving after a couple of beers.
I'm with Cunjo on this.
In my country, we crush the vehicles of people who street race!
Seriously.

A-Dawg: "It is a reckless and dangerous activity that has no place in Canadian communities."
As opposed to, say, heroin use. Which not only has a place in Canadian communities, but is in fact a protected lifestyle provided by the State.

Hah. I halfway expected to see the movie end with a rear-end collision. If I did this in my current car the wheels would fall off and the engine would catch on fire and/or explode.
...aaaahhhhh... I yearn for my days back when I had the 'ol Eagle Talon GST... good times... good times...

The difference is heroin users kill themselves only according to the Canadian government! But seriously, that's natural selection at work.
The heroin or the driving?
The heroin.
Heh, looks like he got away.
pffft! i hate this driver! i mean, wtf sort of public street racing vid does NOT have techno music that sticks in ur head leik glue fer' 500 days?! ur right, cunjo, that guy needs to get SHOT!
or you could have not watched the video and gone on with your daily life.
Daily what?
@ Doak: I knew those Timmy's were always bad influences for today's youth.
@Lecter: [Justice Minister] Vic Toews needs a new PR manager/speech writer. Then again, what can we expect from a politician?

Every week lots of really confident people decide to not put anyone at risk in just this way, and get their minds changed.
The only reason they don't tell you they had their minds changed is because their minds are busy being removed from the road with a shovel along with the rest of them.
The saddest bit is they take out other people who *didn't* make a choice to die of stupidity.

Spot on, blackadder.
If you're driving a hunk of metal going 60 miles an hour, and you're honestly not ready to die, then that's your fault. Roads are dangerous. Learning to deal with it, dying, or not driving at all are the only options. People who are the 'victims' of car crashes are responsible for their own deaths in that they had the choice to prevent such an end, but felt the need to put their lives in the hands of others. That's a fine choice, and many people do it, but those who feel comfortable and safe in a car are asking for a hearty dose of natural selection.
Atleast the driver in the video understands that he's taking a risk.

That's bullshit, Mynt. Using this logic, I could take my rifle, shoot the next guy and say, "Well, it was his choice to be here, he could have killed himself, but no, he let me do it. If you choose to live in a world where there are weapons and ammunition for it, it's your choice to take the risk and get shot, or to kill yourself right away."
For your sake, I hope you were kidding.
Edit: Oh, and I think the driver in the video does not fully understand the risk he is taking. In fact, I think he failed both as a driver and at paying attention in the physics lessons. Hmm?
To get to the matter: By driving like this, you provoke panic reactions from other drivers, such as happened in Germany, where one supreme idiot rushed up to another driver from behind with a difference of velocities between the two cars of about 100 km/h (the slower car was going about 120 km/h). In short, the driver of the slower car sharply turned her steering wheel as a reflex action (to get away from the danger), thereby causing her car to spin out and crash. Result: Both she and her kid died, the asshole that caused it is alive.
