Why I Want a K1200R
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fKxj66PEigk This is the K1200S (Sport Version)
meh.
it's no reason to want it really. the bmer is rated heavy (nearly 100pds heavier than the contenders), unresponsive in cornering and generally not in the game yet.
if you're longing for a sports bike that's not japanese, your best option to this day is the british triumph. it's closing the gap, but it's still no japo racer.
unlike their cars, the bmer sports bike is no chick magnet so if you're looking at it because of the company tag, well, keep flying proms ;-)

or, you could go with something faster... and the two extra wheels come in handy, I've heard:

what's that got anything to do with a bike?
i'll take the bmer anytime before that. there's not substitute for dropping a bike on it's side to take a corner.
anything else is just carting. (and please dont bring about the "carver" hybrid slug.)
if you're never felt the counter-intuitiveness of steering to the left to make a right turn, you've not lived yet ;-)
edit:
*sigh* you're really an annoying bugger to talk about motorcycle when there's still 3 feet of snow out there. damn you!
all i can do for now is watch some pictures of my ride. i sometimes pop her tank cap open for the fumes...

lol, as fun as it is, forget Atom... Lotus is where I want to get my road Car. (:
And UC is right, there's no substitute for a Bike.
IMHO the BMW bikes are very compelling. They have performance, looks AND a very nice ride.

Shelby Cobra or Nissan Skyline for me.
The Atom against a CBR 600... pffff Why didn't they use a real race bike? The Suzuki GSX-R1000 would kill the CBR as well, never mind the Hayabusa 1300.
Beemers are a lot more fun to ride. They perform like a sports bike and fit comfortably.

Prof? skyline or cobra?? Those two aren't even close to being in the same class.
One is a sexy thoroughbred with tons of v8 muscle under the hood.
the other is.. well.. a nissan.
*edit* as for me, just give me a '69 Buick GS with a 455in V8, and a 3speed auto on the floor.. just be sure to give me some stickies, as the original factory-spec tires would burn completely off the first time you stood on it from a dead stop.
Hell.. my mother had one for several years.. never knew how fast it'd go either..
..
.. In her words "the speedometer only went up to 160mph.. and when I nearly broke the needle on the stopper at the 0, I slowed down"

Hey! Nissan made, makes, and hopefully will make, gorgeous cars. I like muscle cars, but a Nissan Fair Lady is not to be scoffed at.
That said, I can't decide on one single car, or bike.
