Haha - VO on the iPhone... Awesome.
I was discussing this with someone else yesterday, and... Linksys already has a ® on iPhone, as seen here.

is someone gonna want to pay 600 dollars for something that could fall right out of their pocket.
i'd rather loose just my phone, or just ipod, or just palm pilot than all three at once. that'd suck

All I have to say is Japan is ahead of Apple.
show us a link moldyman! dont leave us wondering?
Im SO buying one, frickin INSANELY GREAT!
It almost certainly won't run VO. There aren't any x86 or ppc processors that would fit into a 1.16cm thick enclosure along with a screen. It needs to be running an ARM processor- probably a TI OMAP 3430 or an Intel/Marvell xScale PXA3 series. Anyhow, VO isn't compiled for ARM. So no go.
And yes, it is cool. But convergence devices for the lose. I'd much prefer an easy-to-use and not-made-by-Apple cell phone that supported Bluetooth 2.0 and worked well as a Bluetooth modem, a video iPod, and an updated Newton with a 6" screen and Bluetooth. PANs are way maore awesome than idiotic convergence devices. Although I must admit, it looks as though Apple's done a good job.

Yes, and you know why? In Japan, capitalism is allowed to WORK. People tinker with things.. something doesnt work right? They don't get sued, they say "ah so sorry" and try it again..
In the US, tinker with something.. have it blow up in someone's face.. lose your whole business.. Why take the chance? Why risk the loss of your entire way of life, just so you can try to make something a little better, only to have the lawyers sue you when it doesnt quite work right..

Don't blame us, blame the juries that side with the goddamn plaintiffs =P
/me hates plaintiffs
That being said: I expect my firm to replace our crackberries with these things. Much nicer layout than the damn tiny ass "keys" on the crackberry.

Roguelazer: even if it did have a processor that had a version of VO compiled for it, there's the fact that VO requires at least 800x600 resolution to run. So it wouldn't run anyway, even on a modded one, unless the screen were larger.
But at 160dpi. So, come on devs! Give us an iPhone VO client!!
Actually, just read there isn't "yet" a SDK for the phone, but one is expected! GO FOR IT! Be the first MMORPG for the iPhone!
I'll play while I'm driving!

Some how I doubt the iPhone would meet the minimum requirements of Vendetta.
Hrm. new computer or iPhone?... New computer... iPhone.... hrm...
New computer. I'm waiting for the Iphone to
a. Cost less
and
b. hold more stuff
In a year after it comes out, it will most likely have a 10gb version. I'd get that.

zamzx, flash chips are almost always made in powers of 2. It's easier to do, and cheaper. So perhaps a 16 or 32 GiB version, but not a 10 GiB version. Unfortunately, anything above 8 GiB is really, really expensive right now. But, maybe in two years or so...
The one thing I'm watching for is screen problems. They couldn't get the iPod Nano right right out of the gate.... good luck on a full screen version. Give it 6 months after release. Price will come down, capacity will go up, and the screens will hold up to the constant pounding drunk people will be dishing out...
if microsoft made a phone, everyone would be screaming 'monopoly'
it'll be a fucking long time before someone accuses apple of phone monopoly. every damn company and their sisters make them, and nokia & sony-erricson pretty much own the greater portion of the market.
it's a long way up for apple. but it's a huge market. so even 1% would be extremely profitable.
