For all you new college students...

THIS is what you are supposed to be doing in college. Not that silly studying and learning stuff.

No, it's not a naughty link. Sheesh.

I've heard of the Rosebowl stunt. For some reason, I remember it as the scoreboard being hacked and made to say Caltech instead of flipcards.

Read down, it mentions a later Caltech prank that hacks the scoreboard. I'm more impressed by the flipcard one, though, which is probably why it was ranked number 1.

Hehe. Finished reading all the pranks (in between homework). Good stuff, made my day. I actually got the "Stop the Bonsai Kittens" chain email awhile back from a friend of mine who falls for every one of those forwards and sends them all on. I always fire back with Snopes. That's one of my favorite joke websites (not that I really know that many).

Gotta love that Hugo N. Frye. I remember learning about him in high school. Such an inspiration to us all. I have a framed painting of him in my living room, to remind me to not take my freedom for granted.

Actually, that reminds me of Sean Hannity's "Man-on-the-Street Thursdays," where "Flipper" goes out and interviews average people (Like Jay-Walking with Jay Leno) and asks if they know who famous government officials are, such as the Secretary of State, and too many people don't know. At the time of the '04 campaigns, someone mentioned they were voting for "Jim Kearny," because he was running against Bush (he meant John Kerry). Flipper asked a dozen people if they were voting for Jim Kearny and why, and all said "Yes, because he is more for progress and not lying to the American People" or something generic like that. This Hugo N. Frye prank, of course, is even better since it got high profile people who really should know better. Makes an important point, too. Good stuff.

I love some of the older MIT pranks, such as those listed at http://hacks.mit.edu/Hacks/misc/best_of.html

Indeed. College is MEANT for this kind of stuff.

I still have an unopened box of Bonsai Kittens under my bed.
