Yeah, gotta love our clean, pure, completely right media we have. Not changing any facts... pah, this is SAD. It's sadder that hazballah 'won' the battle, I am with Isreal all the way.

man... this sort of stuff goes on every minute.

if you ever watched cnn, or actually any us broadcast, you've been bullshitted to the very last drop of your voting ballot blood.

most us citizens have no idea what's going on in their country. less even the world.

having witness how the bush administration did it's terms, including those of papa bush, i have at last made peace at how german people every got hitler on the podium.

they were duped into it, with fear and propaganda as their motives.

it's the same old story again.

Um. you're making quite a jump from some Reuters loser retouching an image to the Bush administration(s) duping us Americans like Hitler did to the Germans...

Kinda like the whole "Evil Bert" thing, remember that? One retouched image got posted and then everyone and their dog broke out Photoshop and started adding Bert in everywhere.

I miss Evil Bert.

it's not so much of a jump when, day after day, we see bull crap on the news and other media about this or that.

one of the coolest quote from bush not two days ago was "iraq has nothing to do with 9/11". hum. yeah. well, he went to war on the basis of the 9/11 threat.

http://www.poe-news.com/stories.php?poeurlid=63496

video of bush's address: http://www.poetv.com/video.php?vid=6089

yep. there's a lot more hope over there now.

the problem is that it's not just that reuters thing. it keep going on and on. every second week or so there some new bull crap coming out. like that voting fraud thing ( http://www.vendetta-online.com/x/msgboard/8/14585 ).

it's hard to imagine a "free & democratic" government more corrupt on this planet at this time than that of the bush admin. and it's dangerous, because it has the firepower to get a hell of a lot worse.

Man, that's the worst retouching ever. Anyone who has ever done photo editting would spot that right away.

Was it to make things look worse?

Was it to hide dust marks as he says?

Was it to hide something in the background that was too sensitive?

I'm surprised they didn't show the original as well. It looks bad enough.

The weak photoshop job:

The original:

edit: Notice how I managed to stay out of the politics? Woooo I say. Wooooo.

/me dusts moldys foot off.

/me ends up cutting it off, and replacing it with a t-rex's foot.

Snax, that's not the same photo, though both photos share some of the same field of view and were taken at roughly the same time of day - likely the same day though it's hard to be sure.

The area that looks kind of like a giant-scale graveyard in the lower left of #2 is the same as the lower right in #3. The building adjacent to it is clearly not smoking in #3 (though who's to say it wasn't just afterward, since it's not the same pic?). And no, the photo was not flipped or the light would be different.

Anyway, the Photoshop smoke job is awful.

Yeah, Snax me boy - I think that's the built-in Photoshop filter "Filter --> Render --> Clouds", even. And the cloning tool was obviously used. An amateurish job, to say the least.

The new shot is not the same view, it's maybe 300 meters to the right of what you say is the "original" shot.

I would love to work for Reuters and make up fancy fake pics. That would be great. I wonder how much that pays?...

I feel sorry for leber. He's losing all of his accountability over this mattter.

Hey, if I beat up the iraq-ee's, can I have you city? :D

/me takes a close look at what he has offered and.... feels duped! Goddammit!

Welcome to the competitive world of photojournalism, where politics is second to getting the scoop!

(Anyway, you all should go watch the documentary War Photographer anyway, it's really good.)
