After flying the Promethus for a night, I have to agree that it is armored like a tank. Frankly, I suck in combat, and I was able to take down several other people, just by outlasting them. Probably not the best balance.

Given the lack of good outlets of expression, I thought I'd provide a slightly less biased alternative for your voting pleasure:

"Should the Prom be rebalanced?"

a) "The Prom is a tad too powerful, drop its hull to 24000"
b) "The Prom is alot too powerful, drop its hull to 22000."
c) "The Prom is balanced with the other specials. Don't change a thing."
d) "I think all the specials are a tad too powerful compared to the non-specials. Drop the hull to 18000-21000 with the understanding that the Valk and the Pizza Cutter will also be toned down abit."
e) "The Prom is too weak. It needs more firepower."
f) "My opinion is something radically different than the above as I will explain in my post"

I vote 'd' for reasons I've outlined at length elsewhere.

Id say A, even at 24000 its still a tank, mabye dropping maneuverability wouldnt hurt either

Celebrim It seems that your the only one who wants ALL the special ships dropped. If everything was balanced with the "special" ships, how are they special anymore?

Even I would be okay if the prom stayed where it is, encourages teamwork. And teamwork to me makes the game more fun :D

HTP: I'm not the only one with that opinion, just the most vocal.

Yes, I would like all the specials 'dropped', but I recognize that as a minority opinion. Some people feel 'special' owning a 'special ship' and that good feeling is a valuable thing in the game that I wouldn't want to do away with. So, what I'm arguing is not doing away with the specialness just decreasing it a tad. Take the Promy. If we reduced its hull to 19000, it would still be for its size far and away have the strongest hull in the game. It would still be 'special'. Or take the Valk. Even if we reduced its hull to 9000, it would have better firepower, AND more hull points, AND more cargo space than any fighter with either very high or high manueverability. It would _still_ be better in every way that every other light fighter. It would _still_ be 'special' and 'advanced'. It's just that it wouldn't be quite so much better that almost every felt that they had to have one to compete. That way, everyone gets what they want. The people that want balance (like me) get balance, and the people that want 'rewards' get rewarded.
