Wow. The Itani Neural Spike operates in a similar fashion for some of its subroutines.
That's what got Smittens to act all crazy, for sure!
The Neural Spike will be found in grayspace somewhere, it must be found. [IA] 5 Million reward.

I seem to remember reading about a parasitic worm that is carried by cats. its eggs pass from the cats faeces into the rodent or bird population. the newly ingested parasite then change the behaviour of it's host, causing the bird or rodent to become unafraid of cats...even 10th generation lab-bred rats are instinctively frightened when they smell a cat! This dramatic change in behaviour causes the bird or rodent to get eaten by kitty. - viola parasite life cycle completed.

Can it effect humans? YES.it is detectable in post mortems of victims of automobile accidents at a much higher rate than in the general population - indicating a possible link with risk-taking behaviour.

The parasite can also be picked up by sheep and cows, and although the domestic cat rarely kills one of these - some evidence indicates that in countires where meat is eaten rare (like France) there are higher rates of human infection.
bon apetit!

So then, I drive like an old lady instead of a suicidal maniac because I'm a dog person?
Guess that explanes why I burn out spark plugs in 3k miles.
As far as not making the rodents afraid of cats it could just inpare their sence of smell.
