The First Intergalactic Concapult Competition has reached its conclusion!
The first ever Intergalactic Concapult Competition was held last night, and it was a blast!
How to Concapult:
As many members of a single nation get together and place as many Concussion mines as possible directly in the center of a wormhole. The closer together, the better. A member of a different nation takes the lightest ship they can find, turn on flight assist with 0 speed, and turbos at the minefield. The instant they hit the mines, they let off turbo, keeping their eyes glued to the speedometer, noting the highest speed that they attain. When they finally stop, they note how far away from the wormhole they are.
The results:
Concapult Intergalactic Speed Record: 5000m/s (48 mines) by tumblemonster in an EC-99
Concapult Intergalactic Distance Record: 72km (36 mines) by Holden Caulfield in an IBG Centurion.

Hehe the distance record is actually 72km from 36 mines, with a 3000kg IBG.
forgot that I crossed out Holden's original record... you sure it wasn't with 48 mines?
Yeah it was with 36 mines. The 48 mines bang Holden stepped on was badly designed and the IBG only went to about 45km.
[EDIT] I should also mentione that the Mine-laying moths surrounding the charge was also thrown about 4000m in the bang, simply by just being near to it....

lol, that is awesome :D
Truely impressive. I was around when Holden hit about 48km. I personally took a trip to about 36km in a Valk Vengeance. Quite a rush.
I still say the Itanis need to figure out how far the Nemesis can be launched.

whoo! that sounds like fun!
when is the next competition?
when is the next competition?
Okay, someone needs to set a time for UIT and Itani to concapult the cappy
It has to be all one nation setting the mines or else the minefield will detonate.
Last time I dropped concs on Nemesis it didn't respond at all. Maybe its mass is to high. *shrug*
Hmm... Maybe you need a larger impulse... Like 80 or 90 mines, maybe?
Hah! Well that explains the rather large dent in the sector... lol!
