Many people have asked for this feature for guilds. We at ELIT have implemented it.

Currently, to have an account at the bank, you must ask one of the Controllers (currently only me and Root Baba) for an account. You will be able to deposit up to 100,000 credits (with some exceptions) and withdraw as much as you put in. In addition, you can transfer money directly from one account to another without either party having to be in the area. (the person you're paying doesn't even need to be online...)
Its in-game name is "ELIT Bank" and it is a bot.

It seems to work okay, it now automatically gives an account when you dock with the Odia M-14 station.
It's going to get a few new features soon (ways to actually earn money from it).

This is really nice, its a good way to store guild funds, and by using the:

/msg "ELIT Bank" pay

feature, you can effectively givemoney to anyone in the galaxy, no matter where you are.

how is that possible?

shouldn't the person be in the same sector as where the bank is meaning that you can only give money to anybody if you have a bankaccount first. And if you don't have one then you need to open a bankaccount first in the sector where the bank is positioned. Meaning if it is positioned in odia 14 and i have no bankaccount I will not be able to pay anybody anywhere. Not to mention that this immediate giving money is not exactly correct since you do not receive the money but your bankaccount does. And that you can only get the money if you go and get the money from the bank.

So what I see is not a person-bankinteraction but a bank-bank interaction. And that is a gigantic difference :D, im still waiting on the first person - bank anywhere interaction

PS: nevertheless I salute your willingness to dish out another 10bucks and invested time to give people this feature

And I apologise for that. But please do not forget to mention that you need a bankaccount to be able to use it. You need money in it to be able to use it. And the target needs to have less then 100k money in it for the transaction to be successfull. Not to mention that you can only get the money from odia14 and nowhere else. Meaning that the transaction is partly intergalactic but you still have to get the money in odia to get it. Just as the 3+ other bots in the past that were userdriven banks themselves (starfreeze, furball, firemage/irc-bot). And I really hoped that the devs would in their infinite goodness have an idea to make this available in every station in stead of only 1. Maybe by the usage of the missionbots, but I do not know.

PS shape: at least you still have 5 IQ to let it drop :D

You need to put money into your account to pay someone, yes, but the money you pay them does not go toward their (500k now btw) account limit.

that was exactly what I meant :D, since I deducted from your earlier statement that 100k was the limit, just as 500k was now. With the possible consequences this limit can bestow. A limit is afterall a limit :D.
