Yes, warriors. Wars weren't only fought with footmen and a general, the heavy cavalry, i.e. Knights, meaning tanks, meaning the Prometheus (at some stage, maybe? Please?) was just as important.

In the roman empire, there were also knights, or rather, horsemen, who had a certain status, a bit like the hoplites in ancient greece, I think. Those could be another class in the Serconian society.

About religion: A society where war is predominant, the greatest warriors have the most insight in the inner workings of the human mind.

Much like tramshed put it, there would be some kind of warrior monks. Example: Takuan Soho (feudal-era Japan Zen monk who wrote about swordsmanship).

And we need Lady Serco back. She was an interesting concept, always looking akin to Athena to me, (warlike, beautiful in a special way), but that's just my twisted mind.

Okay, this is my rough concept of the Serco Government that I've been working on over the last probably month or so (culminated with two hours worth of thinking, typing, rethinking, and retyping). I'm still deciding on a lot of things based on how events fall, but here's my basic concept (names and titles are subject to change). I've been trying to take into account the possible population size of Terra II, the demographics of the people, the political climate at the end of the war, as well as how my decisions affect future events, and how this government needs to evolve in accordance with them - so be aware, this possible government that I've laid out reflects only its status for several generations after the end of the Colony War.

Preface:
Before the founding of a unified Serco government and after the first Colony War, the colony is pretty much in chaos. The leaders of the Itani and much of the population had fled Terra II in the Ark. The Serco council breaks up as its members vie for power. Eventually, colony domes are taken under control by former council members and these powerful oligarchs rule small numbers of colony domes as separate nations (the Chukang oligarch has the largest nation with four domes under his control). The neutral territories were considered Serco protectorates in the Colony War, and fall under the control of the oligarchs. The remaining Itani colony domes as well fall under the control of the oligarchs.

The Rise of Lady Serco:
Her real name has long since been forgotten, but she was once a great general in the Chukang army. It was due to her military genius that she was able to lead the Chukang military in a blitzkrieg campaign to bring all of the colony domes on Terra II into Chukang control. Upon returning to the Chukang capital in triumph, Lady Serco assassinated the Chukang oligarch and assumed control over the new unified Serco dominion.

The Serco Government:
The head of the government was Lady Serco who had the title of the Hereditary Monarch. The story went that before the opening shots were fired in the colony war, she was a lowly lieutenant assigned to guarding one of the neutral protectorates. The night before the war started, she had a divine vision that she was chosen to unite the Serco people after the Itani were defeated, but she would have to work and fight hard to elevate herself to a position where she would bring substance to the vision. The Hereditary Monarch therefore was a person chosen by divine right to rule over the Serco people and represented the power of the Serco Government.

The Triumvirate:
The three advisors to the Hereditary Monarch made up the Serco Triumvirate and concentrated on the practical aspects of implementing her policies. The three triumvirs represented the three facets of Serco society: Military, Economy, and Industry. The position of triumvir was assigned by the Hereditary Monarch and while was not explicitly hereditary, it was rare that a triumvir's bloodline was removed from the position.

The Bauman Governors:
The hereditary position of Bauman, or governor was awarded to high-ranking Chukang military officers by the Hereditary Matriarch and these people were given direct control of a single colony dome in which they establish their government. It was the Bauman's responsibility to take edicts sent down from the government and put them into effect within their territory as well as govern over the more specific aspects of the dome's operation. They were allowed no more than 50 personal armed retainers, and these retainers lived within palace grounds. They were the Bauman's personal police force, but were also part of the national Serco Armed Force in the event of war. The out of the 103 populated colony domes after the departure of the Itani and the formation of the government, the largest had a population of 180,000 people, while the smallest had only 13,000 inhabitants. Many Bauman greatly enhanced themselves with cybernetics as physical manifestations of the power that they wielded, but rarely engaged in battle. The Bauman's government was a virtual clone of the overall Serco government with each Bauman aided by his own triumvirate. While the position was hereditary, a Bauman could be removed from his or her position by order of the Hereditary Monarch.

The Sanghon Warrior-Nobles:
These warriors lived their lives strictly adhering to the Serco principals of "Machoko." They were leaders in their individual industrial and agricultural communities, but were also leaders in the military. They believed in leading simple and frugal lives while practicing martial arts to build character and self-discipline. Their enhancements were largely combinations of military and civilian components. It was not long before enhancements are designed to specifically fit the requirements of each Sanghon. The Sanghon were appointed to their positions by the Bauman and were hereditary. Less than 1% of the Serco population was made up of Sanghon.

The Serco Armed Forces:
The Serco Armed Forces was the overall name for all military forces in the Serco Nation. The Commander-in-Chief was the Hereditary Monarch, the generals were the Bauman, colonels the Bauman's retainers, the captains the Sanghon, and the rest of the force were made up of civilian reservists supported by combat drones. Approximately 60% of the Serco in the Serco Armed Force belonged to the Army, 25% belonged to the Navy, and 15% belonged to the Air Force.

The Civilian Working Class:
The civilians in Serco society were part of the working class and made up all of the Serco civilian and war industries, as well as agriculture. Serco industry was very labor efficient with a high degree of automation although complete automation was generally distrusted. This distrust of complete automation stemmed from the malfunction of several independent guises in the Colony War that either attacked the wrong target, or didn’t self destruct when their mission completed and started attacking random targets. Now all machinery and drones must be monitored and managed by controllers. A majority of the Serco Armed Force is made up by civilian volunteers whose main jobs are to act as squad leaders controlling anywhere from 12-36 combat drones. The working class was for the most part hereditary, although they could be elevated by Bauman (usually to Sanghon) or by Sanghon (to higher level supervisor positions).

The Merchant Class:
The merchant class was mostly made up of the formerly neutral population who were integrated into Serco culture. The pursuit of money was looked down on by the Serco populace, although they understood the economic necessity of such a class, so the merchants were tolerated. Members of the merchant class, due to their neutral heritage, generally eschewed all but the most minor of enhancements and thus were unsuited to normal civilian labor. The merchant class was not explicitly hereditary – there were cases of workers discarding their cybernetic enhancements and joining the merchant class, or children of merchants deciding to have their bodies enhanced and joining the working class, although such cases were not common. In establishing the new government, Lady Serco discarded her warlike cybernetic enhancements to symbolically link the enhanced Serco and the unenhanced neutrals as one.

Industrial, Agricultural, and Combat Drones:
Each drone is specifically tailored for the task that they will perform. They are semi-autonomous, meaning that they only need management by controllers to perform their tasks.

The Untouchable Class:
This class was made up by the few remaining Itani left behind on Terra II when the Ark departed the system. Members of the untouchable class were not allowed to join the military, nor were allowed to join even the merchant class. They were looked down upon by everybody, although they couldn’t just be killed off. Thus, the members of the untouchable class became servants and janitors within Serco cities.

Very nice! I like it! When do we hear more of the history?

That's just my outline of the Serco government. It's nothing concrete. I'll planning on writing the Serco history as a collection of documents. I'll probably write up a "Serco Constitution" or something to go more in-detail about the Serco government circa 2675 Anno Domini (the Serco have their own system for counting years).

I plan on writing the history as an outline or summary and emailing it to Incarnate to make sure that there's nothing he (and the rest of Guild Software) objects to before I go into the serious writing.

Good. I'd like to see where (if anywhere) the Parables could fit.

Parables... parables... oh yea! hmm.... Let me flesh out this history a bit more (ie. get along farther) before I make a definite choice. My initial instinct is that they'll probably not fit in the history in the way that I intend to organize it, but who knows?

Ah, that's cool. That way I can concentrate more on them as legends than as factual historical incidents.

I know that I shall meet my fate
Somewhere among the clouds above;
Those that I fight I do not hate
Those that I guard I do not love;

A lonely impulse of delight
Drove to this tumult in the clouds;
I balanced all, brought all to mind,
The years to come seemed waste of breath
A waste of breath the years behind
In balance with this life, this death.
