Just an example, how some People act. I do not blame him (I deleted his name and set "Itani" instead), but it is a nice example for how unfriendly sectorchat can be... why act some player so unfriendly?

Please do not play this game, if real life made you angry.

<Itani> Hello
<Serco> hi
<Itani> Whats your Itani standing?
<Serco> very very good... better then my serco :)
<Itani> What is it.
<Serco> over XXX (<- edited. I told him my level)
<Itani> Ok
<Itani> Leave now
<Itani> You are not welcome here
<Serco> why?
<Serco> your defbots welcomed me
<Itani> Well the Itani as a people do NOT welcome you into Itani space. Leave now.
<Serco> and I never killed Itani in Itani space... good for you...
<Itani> I dont give XXXXX (edited) who you killed and where. Leave MY space. Next tim i see you i will destroy you.
<Serco> oh and if you roleplay: you should know that Itani are friendly and wants to be good friends with serco :P
<Serco> if you kill me here, YOUR standing will massivly drop
<Serco> just for your information....

(Itani left the sector or the game, dunno...)

But the Itani aren't friendly towards Serco anymore. As a matter of fact, they've destroyed or sent away every ship that's come through the wormhole. Didn't you read the last chapter of the backstory?

That is not my point.

In a roleplaying game, a question like:
"Whats your Itani standing?"
makes sure, that you are not in your character. So this discussion was a chat between two players out of character.

I play this game, because I want fun. Why should anybody swear without _any_ reason in this manner?

Hey, say whatever you want. But then stay, and fight with your weapons untill death in unmonitored space.
Saying things like that example above without a reason and out of character, and then leaving the sector is not only stupid, but made me angry. Hey if I want "discussions" like this, I go into a cheap pub! (I won't btw)

My intention to post this was just to please everybody not to akt like this.

*sigh* i feel bad for the Itani who said that. He obviously has no life....if he can say that any Itani space is "MY SPACE". I am personaly friendly to all Serco unless Serco turns hostile

I think it was just an attempt at role playing. Faction standing is part of the game, not nescesarily OOC. It may not have been good rp'ing but still. There is plenty in the back story to support both peace loving Itani as well as Serco haters.

You can't have it both ways. If your not RP'ing then you shouldn't care if someone doesn't like Serco, it's a game right? If you are RP'ing then you should understand why an Itani might hate Serco.

Also: try not to swear in the forum as there is no filter here.

I think this is a great example of the story playing itself out.
not all Itani are peaceful and friendly. there are clearly those who follow the example of the Akanese, and will be very hateful, as the Itani have been exiled from their homeworld so long ago. The Itani people cannot not be blamed for the actions of one or a few rogue, hateful Itani.

as a member of the Itani Defense Force, I will never attack unless attacked, or hostile action is taken against another Itani or innocent player. even if I saw a UIT attacking a serco trader or miner, I would likely take action against that UIT, as they are being pirate-like, which is unacceptable by any nation. though I would preffer to stay out of serco-UIT affairs entirely.

yesterday I had a standoff with a Serco Attack Force member in Bractus. he started showing very hostile movements, to which I could only respond with defensive maneuvers. I was there to defend convoys. He couldn't seem to hold his britches, and fired upon me, resulting in a massive launch of the strike force before IDF backup arrived. He left and after a while later, returned, only to cripple me with a hail of neutron fire on my rear, once again, causing a huge ruckus in Bractus.

I think people should stay civilized in any situation unless there is hostile action taken. that's the order that i'll follow by, regardless of how much i'd love to destroy Serco all day.

conversely, i was sitting in Bractus a while back to attack a convoy when an ISP member decided to sit in space in front of me. I gave him my warning by firing a single shot across his bows. He returned fire and triggered the strike force against him.

Yesterday, another of the camping valkyres from the IDF met their fate at the side of my tachyons. He decided that it was a good place to wait in ukari, near a roid in order to surprise passing pilots, and attacked me on sight.

its incredibly annoying to have to abort a chat in order to deal with a homer-spamming valkyre, and I made sure the owner of said ship was aware of that, with a nice shatter of debris from their ship.

"I think it was just an attempt at role playing"

yes. after I slept a night over it, I think you are right...

"Also: try not to swear in the forum as there is no filter here."

Uhm... right. XXX-ed some words out.

And I think the topics name is also missplaced... Sorry I really should allways sleep a night, before I post...

Crippled Pidgeon,
I'm sorry, I think that might've been me who fired upon you (actually, I'm almost sure it was). I'd like to appologize, I was trigger happy and saw your warning shot as an attack.

It wasn't you, smittens. But just wanted to protect the player's name. It was really funny though. I put a single shot across the person's bow, and he opened fire. Then all these def bots came out and chased him out of the system.
