While running the secret cargo he was picked up by a Secro armed patrol. They captured his cargo and proceeded to interogate him. Nam unluckily knew many things about Itani troop placements and ship movement orders, due to his close affiliation with the central government. After months of long tourtue, Nam finally snaps and tells the Secro's everything he knew. Then the Secro doctors implemented brainwashing techniques to turn him over to the Secro way of thinking. As a result of his weak willed and cowardly act, the Itani nation has ex-communictaed him and placed a Kill on Sight order for his destruction. Not knowing how to live, Nam fled to UIT space and applied for citizenship. Also as a by product of the intense Secro tourtue and brain washing, he now holds some sort of uncontrollable loyalty to the Dominion. Latley he has been drivin mad by the sub-conscious callings of the Secro commanders, and has enlisted in the Secro Vengence Gruop. He'll make the Itani pay for their foolish ways.

Ed never knew her father. Rumours in the family say that he might be some Itani runaway, still alive but not seen for decades. The mystery surrounding this subject piqued Ed's curiosity when she got wise enough, but each of her investigations remained vain. With an always-on-the-run mother and no father, Ed was given a very moral upbringing by her aunts.
When she reached the age of 13, her mother began to take her for trade runs. There she learned the basics of purchasing and negotiating with all kinds of people, including not so recommendable ones...
When she came of age, she brillantly passed her pilot licence, and went for her first solo runs, flying a rather worn second hand ship. This was a turning point in Ed's life. Now away from the strict circle of her aunts, she became more and more curious of all the things she was deprived of until then. Although she then rubbed shoulders with lots of more or less honnest fellows, working on her captivation power, and allways ready to celebrate ^_^ , she kept the family's high sense of Honor, never diddling one more than one diddled her, always ready to help, even if it meant loosing her life.

Waking from a sleep which seemed to have no beginning, he found himself in a UIT trade ship carrying supplies from Sol II H-13, SkyCommand. It seemed to be full of implants and other cybernetic parts, except one small and empty but heavily shielded box. The ship seemed to have been through rough times due to the many armor patches, most of which seemed very recently done. Nevertheless, he started the ship back up with ease and an autopilot sequence continued it's course to Dau L-11. Although autopilot programs were both expensive and risky (do not handle well to unexpected events), it worked efficiently. After waking up from another long nap as he neared the station, he noticed an old picture of him but with dark brown eyes. Sure enough, he checked and found out he had some cybernetic nanites that changed his eye color. After selling his cargo, he came back to his ship to find an assassin on board. The assassin was quickly disabled, despite himself having been stabbed with a tachyon/neutron phase knife. He suddenly became self-aware of every bit of his body. The nanites quickly went to work and repaired and rebuilt his wound. Must have been one hell of a costly enhancement, he thought, after seeing the Akanese symbol on the inactive knife. Indeed, his accounts held plenty of funds, with a few records of several good deals he must have made back in Serco space. He then continued what seemed to be his calling, trade.

On a trip that brought him to SkyCommand, a security officer pulled him aside from the space bar crowd into a dimly lit room. They asked if his trade in Dau L-11 went well, despite the pirate attack on his ship. "Yes, of course," but they said they needed to do a truth test. It seemed like he passed. He was released thereafter, but not before overhearing that his memory was wiped and replaced by the cybernetic security system after the apparent pirate attack. It all seemed to fit, except why these Serco were so intent on keeping trade secrets. Maybe he had a secret knowledge of something internal belonging to the Serco. Too late now though, better to stay alive to get rich.

A few weeks later, on the way to make a killer sale in Deneb, several Akanese ships appeared from nowhere and pummeled his ship. He remembered heading to crash into a large ice asteroid before being knocked out by a final blast. Once again, he awoke and found himself in a strange place. It seemed to be a slightly damaged Itani Valkyrie. Scans indicated that all the other ships had been disabled with barely a scratch. His curiosity got the better of him, and he began to look through all the files he could find on the ships. What he found was too much. They were looking for a top-secret project called ViciousNanite.

I just read through this thread again, and I count at least eight Mary Sues -- several of whom have bios that have elements that don't seem to exactly fit within the realm of Vendetta Online.
