A long time ago. A very long time ago. I remember the first time I played, It took me about 3 days to realize there was such thing as "turbo."

He started a little before me. We became enemies and he inspired me to become a pirate. Just think. If it wasn't for him, I might be a stupid trader or something :P


Oh yeah, Sam introduced me to Vendetta, before that we used to play a game called "Oberin" together. So I started like a week after him...So, will be like 2 years in...3 months

hm... i started in 3.1.1x, i don't exactly remember which one exactly, it's .13; .14 or .15.
i _think_ "toshiro" was my first char (which i have kept ever since).

the person that trained me to fight right was Phoenix (after he'd bankrupted me ^^).
in the following major versions (i.e. 3.2.12, 3.3.4) i was pretty active, but relapsed in to a semicomatose phase as of march, 15th 2004.

it was the online journal inside mac games that led me to ven originally.

Hmm I joined to Vendetta because of a happypenguin article scrolling trough my knewsticker (or something).. don't know when. When I look at happypenguin it was at 3.3.5 I'm not quite sure. That was 10 nov 2003 but I could have joined later, or earlier. I do remember that around the time I joined there was this whole money bug thing going on and I quickly had about 500 million or so, hehe.

I joined about 3.2 or something, it was over a year ago so...
It was before the major Money Bug Reset, when everyone was filthy, and filthy rich. It was about meh, 5 months before that maybe?? Long enough I went from Pyroman_Ace to [SDF] Black 1 and built the SDF.

I joined because our dear dear friend, SoySauce mentioned it on the EV-Nova.net boards back when I was playing EVN almost non-stop throughout the day.

Well, here it goes...

I downloaded the Vendetta Updater (the lil' thingie that automatically upadates the Vendetta Client) in the end of 2.4, but I never got the time to download the full update, as I was on dial-up at the time. Several months later, when the TEST had just turned v3, I purchased Broadband, and thus could download the full Vendetta Client.

Special thanks to UncleDave.. he was like a father to me. He trained me, gave me my first money, and took good care of me (yes, there were griefers, then, too). Thankie, Davie. ^_^

I joined a few days after the 3.2.0 release, playing a NT char. The first player from another nation I encountered was an Itani trader, but I still ran scared (the whole red dot thing) Later I bought a hornet with four gravitrons, which was promptly killed in S7 by several Valk wielding Itanis.

The first player I remember was Icarus: I found some cargo floating near a wh, and stopped to grab it. Next thing I know, Icarus is bearing down on my in a centaur...

Uni got a little too much for spare time, so I took a break for a while and returned as an Itani...

Hmm.. sometime in 11/02 or 12/02. I forget which. I Know it was late 3.0. something like 3.0.10 I think (for some reason taht sticks in my mind).

Woah I've been around longer than FURBALL? And he bosses me around? Man that is futzed up... :P

By the way people, if you want the exact date you joined, you can ask a1k0n in the #vendetta channel if he has free time. That's how I knew mine.

I think I joined around the same time FB did. I do remember it was in December. It was, like mid-December.

Random fact- In early 2003 I left Vendetta for about a week and a half, then came back. Originally my name was spelled MajorRager.

i'm pretty sure I joined around early 3.1, if not earlier. All I know though is it was close to 2 years ago, maybe 1.5 years because I played Vendetta almost like an addiction at the beggining of last september which was the beggining of my Sophomore year, and I remember standing by the lockers with ss and some friends around the begginging or middle of my Freshman year, talking about vendetta. So officially I'd say 1.5 years

The most helpful player was obviously silentsuicide, when I first started, he gave me his "quick" tutorial and gave me some money. Then there was midgets, and it was really nasty, but then it cleared up and I learned a lot on the basics of how to play.

I joined sometime this year, end of February.Vendetta was at... 3.3.>17 or so--can't remember. First thing I did as a gold n00b was fly around killing the bots in my homesector... I amassed about 30k creds killing bots (took me a while to figure out widgets were worth money). learned how to dock clumsily. hehe... I have really bad person vs. computer coordination, so back then I couldn't even read chat while I flew.
Phoenix or Raine was the first to kill me.

Something around late December or early January (I'll check my logs when I get home), early 3.3... I think. After whenever the December reset was.

[EDIT: Apparently I started playing on January 19, 2004 (Or at least, that's when I was given the link). I thought it was earlier than that, but whatever.]

I had a friend show me the ropes so I didn't have too much of a problem trying to figure out flying, targetting, or selling cargo... but I spent a good half an hour thinking the flag was cargo (he said pinkish purple dots...). NPC's liked shooting at me and I didn't like shooting back until I got sick of exploding all the time. Blowing other things up was fun, so I became a big time botter who occaisionally hauled cargo around the universe. Then botting got boring, so I just roamed around after that. Got all buddy buddy with the INM, yadda yadda yadda...

My first death was issuing on the s5 station trying to find the dock. First bot to kill me was [NPC] Athetna (sp?). It was also the first bot I killed.

First pirate was Phoenix, although he attacked me with someone else... he just happened to get the kill (Actually, I'm finding it rather amusing that Pho managed to get a lot of first kills... er... yeah).

Helpful people? sprintf introduced me to the game, and taught me how to play. Toshiro was my defense buddy for flag caps. alienb liked blowing me up, partially convinced me to join Itani Nation (I like how that worked out), and was there when I lost my valk virginity. Zeplin was the one who taught me that s9 was really really big and a bit of dueling. StarFreeze gave me 20mil creds the night before the 3.4 reset (that doesn't really count, huh).

And I have never flown an Atlas.

I joined in September of 2003. A friend who had played previously showed me the game but theyn got re-bored of it almost instantly after some blue (I forget who) told him he was a stupid newb for getting killed by the s4 bots.

I was almost crying with joy, since I had been looking for a Privateer-type game like this for ages. After a few hours of botting a Red flew by and hid in the station (those old hub stations had some good cracks). Thinking he was a bot, I valiantly attacked with my bus. I think he was typing or something, because I killed him, and then he spammed me with angry PMs.

Good days...

Durgia randomly gave me 10million. I was just cruising along listening to the ego wars on the chat and BAM - credits galore. That sparked my three week s9 war intense combat training spree.

After the reset that introduced the dynamic economy, I spent the majority of my time trying to find a good weapons config. Everyone and their mother seemed to use sunflares so I tried for the tri-tach (failing miserably against everyone except in one duel against Arolte that I survived for ten minutes). After a month or so of boosting Evhun Cerundir and Serco Fighter 1's PK count, I switched to sunflares and started to not suck.

Then life interjected and I fell out of Vendetta for a while, about the time of the whole SM thing. I came back for a brief while, enjoying the last few golden days of the pre-leveling system kill fest.

And now I'm here.

I've been off and on ever since 3.1

I was TFV Uknown Person early on, till 3.2.2 When I quit because of the homesector greifing.

Came back when 3.2.5 introduced the defbots, been off and on ever since. Been everything greifer, trader, rammer, capper... Under several different names.

I joined in 2.x. They had just added the CTF sector, which we all raved about, but no one was actually in. We managed to lure six people in once, and we had a fun time. I remember slamming into roids at full speed and depositing flags inside the roids! :-D In the DM sector, there were three ships... light, medium, and heavy. You spawned with the basic red ion cannon, and picked up floating upgrades. The timer reset scores and ships every 15 minutes. When the timer expired, your bounty was added to your score to give you your final score. I had the highest score for a while in the 3900s. Then cumulative scoring was introduced and I sucked again. :P Anyone remember when this was? I heard about it on MacGamer, but apparently their news articles don't go back that far...

We joined in fall of 2002 sometime. I was originally "Sally Ride". Now I am Carmen Ibanez. There were many helpful players. Of course many have gone now. I'll try and remember some names...
