SDF CO nearing retirement.

Due to my life taking over and Spellcast unable to constantly being online. I am looking for a solid, dependable, and Serco leader. They will slowly replace myself as the CO of the Serco Defense Force.
Whether they will continue after release will play into factor. The new CO will be trained by myself to take the lead of the SDF.

If you wish to look at this position further, please post here. However, myself and Spellcast will retain power OVER the replacement CO. When my retirement comes due, Spellcast can accept CO position and take the reigns with the replacement becoming XO or Spellcast can opt to allow the replacement the reigns.

Current SDF members are applicable for this position. Your official title will be Wing Commander until I retire, which is looking sooner and sooner to occur.

Thank you,

[SDF] Black 1
CO, SDF

PS: This is not an April Fools joke. I am totally serious that my days as CO are numbered and that a newer, forward thinking member is needed to help guide us into Release.

SDF still kicking about eh?

Yea, we're still around, Need to get some recruiting and training programs started but we haven't had any time to get them worked out and activated.

(also i'm spending some of my time on my dsl playing all the other multiplayer games that sucked when i had dialup)

I am on black 1, I'm just kinda waiting for a game update and/or maybe some built in guild support before i return to active status. Mostly i've been using disposable chars in homesectors to try out some new control schemes. for the most part i delete them without ever getting a kill or a credit.

Please ignore black 1, I am having him shot for being a moron.

(doofus you DONT tell people you are rearming in secret, then its NOT a secret anymore) <sigh>

Either way, the rumors of the demise of the SDF have been greatly exagerated. We are alive, but mostly we have decided that there is no real way to run the guild in the manner we want to at the present time. With no way to provide discipline in the ranks or to keep effective track of the actions of our pilots, we are remaining quiet until the game software is ready and able to allow us to administer the guild in a more efficient manner.
In the meantime, If you need assistance I am on fairly regularly again, just /msg me ingame for help either with learning the game or if you are under attack.

The SDF is dead pyro. Just accept that. No one wants your piece of trash anymore.

Keep it down, Itani scum. Nobody wants to hear your crap. Let the Serco talk freely or I'll be forced to spam over how much your INM crap sucks! Now then, proceed...

WAR UPDATE:

Serco Defense Force (SDF) Alive and Well Underground

Okay, in the past 2 weeks, I have been contacting some of the old SDF guys who went underground or retired during the big SDF/Phoenix incident.

Currently, they are slowly rejoining the game, using untagged chars and, when we feel the time is right, we can unveil the full power of an INCREASED SDF force.

Since the distruction of the SM, the SDF has gotten another 6 pilots, while the original SM splinter, has all but been destroyed.

So, Itani, NT, and Pirates, you should be careful in your actions against our guild...we shall return when the game becomes a Faction Based Government rather than a National Government. Until then, we protect the Serco we know...

<[ISSP] Genin>Hey, it's been a while since anyone was in here! Sup?

Okay, I didnt mean to say we were rearming in secret, because it's not a secret. I've said for months we are simply biding time until Guild Support comes out in-game. When that happens, we will hopefully reemerge.

Currently, I have been concentrating on skool work and the like. On the 6th of June, school gets out, but I hope that I am able to get the SDF going again before summer. But, should I not be able to, starting on the 7th of June I will begin working on restructuring the SDF so that we can keep order amongst the ranks and the like.

So, simply reitterating what Spellcast said, we will come back again and this time, we will be MUCH better at our jobs and hopefully we can prevent the rogue splinters and other acts that the SDF goes against, from happening it our own ranks.

I'm going to have to agree with mr. pyroman here. Until we see official support for guilds I don't think there'll be much of an incentive to create 'em. They're pretty much pointless now. I mean you can make up your own rules and pretend like you're some military (or pirate) force of some sort, but aside from that it's pretty meaningless. While no details have emerged as to what features we'll see with guild support, I'd imagine that there would be things that would help support teamwork and add more purpose to being together in groups.

For example tags might automatically be added to character names, rather than having to create a new character, put in those ugly brackets, and ask someone to transfer money to the new account. The possibility of having a guild bank should also be considered, where every guild member would spend money out of a guild account rather than spending personal money for huge wars. The inclusion of the mission system will also help encourage co-op missions towards particular goals, and maybe a guild ranking system can be put into place for such competition.

Celkan, this is a roleplaying forum, if you dont wanna read it, just dont click on the link. the topic of the thread was "SDF CO nearing retirement" if that doesnt clue you in that it's a pyroman thread, i'm not sure what will.

(i'll be the first to admit that his fingers dont always seem to have any link to his thought processes based on what he types, but he's just trying to have fun)

Besides, his rhetoric is exactly the kind of stuff you'd expect a slighty (ok mostly)paranoid, fanatical, semi-militant person to say.

Is it really necessary for us to put up with Pyroman's propaganda?

And I state this again since a certain forum moderator thought it was flame bait. The SDF is dead/dying/whatever you want to call it. The SDF never defeated the SM, no one did. It's leader and his side-kick left for the United States Army. Please get your facts straight. After they left the SM fell apart without true leadership (not surprising). Don't attempt to take credit for things you simply did not do Pyro.

And Mr. Seraphim, again not to start a debate here, the SDF/DSG DID severely weaken the SM's control over outland territory such as s9 and s13 and even on occasion s10.

The SM's leaders, I will infact note, did leave the game and that did leave a power vaccuum, however the one that DID step up was FAR better a leader in terms of diplomatic relations rather than a "Shoot Em Up" force.

And I dont give a wooden nickel about where the leader went. If US Army service is supposed to impress me, you are falling far short. Tomorrow I assume full command of Alpha Company, 3rd Platoon with a rank advance to c/1LT (up strangely from c/SGT)

And again you're telling your stories. They don't put 16 year old kids in command of companies. Especially not "ROTC" members, even though I thought ROTC was a college program. Guess I'm getting old.

well, sry Seraphim you must be getting old, I never said company

PLATOON!

National > Regions > Brigades > Battalions > Companies > Platoons > Squads

I am a c/1LT or commander of a Platoon, my Company-grade officer is c/CPT Shindle.

ROTC is a college program, I am in JROTC, or Junior Reserve Officer's Training Corps.

Anyways, back on topic...:P

Okay, due to my life taking over and my girlfriend dragging me around a fair bit (more over I just kind of follow), I am turning the SDF's daily runnings over to Spellcast for the time being.

I will retain my rank and tag but I will not be LEADING the force per se any longer. It is not fair to the organization and the pilots that I am unable to fulfill my duties as I should. I entrust Spellcast to do a great job. I will be around but I won't run the SDF day to day work, I'll be in charge of infrastructure.

To SDF Pilots: Trust Spellcast's orders, he'll have my help if he needs or wants it. But until further notice, Im on temporary Leave Of Absense.
