First, I have no intention of leaving gold even if it is beaten down to nothing.
Yes my time off was restful, but it was also a busy time (Novemeber->March seems always busy for me).
I personally don't like the mining for score thing, I liked the old s8 way, spend time actually killing the bots without getting PKed for your bounty. With the money bug (or even without it) it is too easy to get the money for mines.
