Serco's Tale
In the time before The Crash, we were farmers. When we were abducted into this universe our carrier set down upon a barren, fiery world. Being skilled in the arts of worldmaking, we recreated our planet into a paradise. This labor lasted nearly two hundred years. When our labors ended, we grew happy and prosperous. We were a peaceful people, but Peace would not have us, seeing that we were bred for a greater purpose.
On a stormy day a ship of space fell to ground in our fields of grain, disrupting the harvest season. From this ship stepped the woman who we know know as Lady Serco. She was an outcast Itani general, banished through the foul machinations of internal Itani politics. She had fled into the void and stumbled upon our world.
She saw us in our happiness and peace. She saw that we were vulnerable, and that one day the people who had cast her out would follow her and come to take our world for their own. Thus, she set about to create a formidable army for our home world's defense.
Over many years, she succeeded. Great mountain ranges, once uncultivated, became our training grounds. From the population she drew the strongest, the wisest and the most just and dedicated to the cause. These she invited to dwell with her, and from their meek fiber moulded our farmers into great warriors. We learned the way of the sword and the bow, the gun and the great cannon. We learned to build great ships of war that would forever protect us from the dangerous void, and that would let our voice be heard across the stars.
Once we had prepared, she bid us take our strength and destroy the Itani who had cast her out, that we might be safe from their deadly weapons. It was said that the Itani fought without honor, and that their commitment to victory was greater than their commitment to to battle itself. At the time, we did not believe this. At the time, we were fools.
With Lady Serco at our flag, our forces burst from our borders like a jet of flame across the galaxy. We assaulted outposts and stations. Entire planets felt our rage and were made to kneel at Lady Serco's feet, to swear allegiance or die by her blade, one by one. We considered our actions justified by the dishonorable nature of the conquered people.
In time we came to the Itani home world, turning green and blue before us. Seeing the vast array of forces before them, the Itani surrendered as one. Not a shot was fired over Itani Prime.
Lady Serco took a shuttle down to the surface to seal the pact of Dominion over the Itani, but when she grasped the pen to sign the papers, she was struck down by a fire of chemicals. A neurotoxin as we know it today.
We were paralyzed with shock. Our Lady, our God, our Serco, defeated not in battle, but at the table of victory by a treacherous Itani! We thought that our pain was at its worst, but in truth we had not yet begun to hurt. Within hours a second Itani fleet that had been hiding in Itani Prime's mass shadow engulfed our forces, and we were driven back. Their superior numbers and technology chased us fighting to our homeworld, but they were not satisfied to see their outposts recaptured.
The Itani fleet bombarded our planet, lovely Prometheus Prime. Over the course of a day our home world changed from a garden haven to the fiery orb that we see today. They left us survivors weeping among our burning crops and the smoking corpses of our loved ones.
But we were not subdued. We grew strong, and swore to avenge ourselves upon those who had committed these acts against us. To this day, we strive towards the goal, and when the time is right we shall reclaim it, and there shall be no mercy for the Itani traitors this time.

Very nice story, ctishman. Easily EV-quality.

Nice work, but didn't the Ancient Ones (devs) designate our race as having been scientists?
Yes. World-Formers (e.g. terraforming specialists).
Thanks, Camps :)

Though your valor in her defense is admirable, I fear it is inaccurate. Our Lady Serco was a warrior, and though no pictures of her remain it can be assumed that she was strong and heavily muscled rather than displaying the weak, submissive beauty that the Itani seem to find so attractive.
so she was a big burly man-woman who reeked testosterone everywhere?
Okay okay, allow me to fix what Rav said.
Jennifer Garner/Holley Marie Combs but built like a linebacker in the NFL.
And no, she didn't reek testosterone everywhere.
And thank you Rav for you rather...odd, idea of what Lady Serco looked like, it all gave us a few laughs I'm sure. Yet the Lady Serco wasnt your typical anime warrior princess stuff, she was the truest and purest of beings!
FOR SERCO!
PS: P_A wishes to remind all of you he is not a follower of the Lady Serco but has studied her in historical documents at the Serco War Academy for the class Serco War Doctrines, Causes and Effects.
PSS: P_A now wishes to remind all of you he isnt a scoholr so dont treat him like one, otherwise you maybe laible to a certain Vulture on your tail...:P
