Yes, that is correct; Serco-Gate is back online once again. This time it has come to stay, though, and of that I assure you.

For several months now, I have been designing a whole new core for Serco-Gate Network. What was once a crappily set-up site containing nothing but half-finished guides and promises which were never kept, can now potentially become a large network of Vendetta-related sites of all kinds (no, they need not be Serco-related). It's up to you.

Serco-Gate wil from now on serve as a hosting-portal of Vendetta-related webpages and the like (eg. files). Each approved member of the network will have 10 megabytes of webspace to his/her disposal, a member forum, and an optional @serco-gate.de email adress. Also, should the Serco-Gate Administration (that'd be only me, as of yet) see it neccesary, this amount of a standard 10 megabytes may perfectly well be increased.

For a demonstration of the Serco-Gate Hosting System, point your nose to www.serco-gate.de/memberlogin.html and enter "demo" as username and password.

If you think your site is suitable for hosting at the Serco-Gate Network, check out www.serco-gate.de/knowledgebase.html to view Terms and Conditions of Hosting, Server stats and read the instructions on how to properly request hosting.

Hosting at Serco-Gate.de is of course free of charge.

.:: Additional, not-so-important information.

The old forums of the site have been dug up from the depths of confusing MySQL errors and the like, and are once again online, providing support for the members of the Serco-Gate Network and SG Member Forums.

Also, and IRC-channel have been registered to Serco-Gate. It can be found at the very same network as #vendetta (irc.slashnet.org, port 6667) at channel #Serco-Gate.

All the Best,

Not really. It's an announcement, and it wouldn't be seen by anywhere near as many in the Role-Playing Forum. FM; please do not move.. at least not yet.

[rants, flames, and general rudeness deleted]

We are not doing this here. Take such behavior to...to...some hosting-portal of Vendetta-related webpages and the like...or something.

*I* get to decide what gets moved, regardless of requests pro or con. In this case I felt it was of general interest as people have been looking for places to post things. I'll probably eventually move it when more things happen in General.

"..to...to...some hosting-portal of Vendetta-related..."

Aw, tsk tsk. Serco-Gate has been around for ages. It has simply been redesigned to fit its new purpose. I thought you knew 'bout Serco-Gate, FM. Heh.

EDIT: post deleted by me, I think we've drug this post far enough off topic, Sorry about that FM, Archon.

Well, I didn't know about Serco Gate and I'm glad this was posted. However, please change the name of the thread to something like "Serco Gate announcement" and not just "ATTENTION!"

Very misleading if I try to look for it later. :)

I did. See, the joke was that I seemed not to, despite the fact that I pasted in your wording.

I agree with Re1ayeR, without a search function it is a real pain to find threads with ambiguous titles. It's not that big of a deal though.

Yes, I know.. sorry 'bout that.

FM, feel free to move this to role-playing. Hehh heh.
EDIT: Yeah, I did make this post to bump the topic. :p

Just wondering, why are you continuing to develop SG if you're not playing anymore?
Feb 28, 2004 Archon link
Well, first of all, I made Serco-Gate not for myself, but for the Vendetta Community. Thus, me not playing anymore did not and will not keep me from developing it. As a side note, if I hadn't stopped playing, the new Serco-Gate would probably still be under development. It is, in fact, a result of me not playing anymore, I daresay.
