Tube Racing
Tube Racing is currently in hibernation.
Tube Racing is a test of pure piloting. Five races across five sectors — Sedina B-5, D-5, E-5, F-5, and H-5 — and nothing in the hold but nerve. Fly any non-capital, fighter-class ship you like, but the weapons stay off. There is no shooting your way to the front of this pack. There is only the line you choose, and how hard you dare carry it into the next bend.
The start is the first test. Gather within 100 meters of the host and wait for the call. "Ready." Then, when every ship has gone still, "Set." Nothing moves until the host calls "Go." Twitch early and your race is reset; do it again and again and you are finished for the night.
Then it is the tube. Cross the finish line ahead of the field and take 25 points. Second takes 18, third 15, and on down to a single point for tenth. Clip hard enough to punch out through a wall — or come apart entirely — and you score Did Not Finish: zero. The tube does not move. You do.
At the end of the event the points are tallied and the top six pilots split up to 21 million credits, with 6 million to the champion. And the leaderboard is lifetime — every point you have ever scored is still standing on it, which means the fastest pilots of Season One are already ahead of you.

Season Two will begin September 2nd, Wednesdays at 6 PM CST (2300 game time). Each event runs about half an hour.

The last night of Season Two, and the one the clock finally caught
THE NIGHT
Last week Ultionis ran Sedina B-5 in 00:49.409 three minutes before the start,
and it counted for nothing. This week he did it when it counted.
Ultionis ran the course in 00:49.345 in a Centurion Superlight
First race, first finisher, a new all-time B-5 record — and faster than the
practice lap that got away. It was also the twenty-five points that carried
him past one thousand lifetime. He was not satisfied:

Lunar Shadow, who flew on the very first night of Tube Racing back in April
2025, came back for the last one and took second in 01:08.287. Azryayix gyarz
was third. And Ashanti of The Sands was still in bed:

The field held the line in D-5 while Ashanti fetched his Rev C from Latos N-2
and was teleported in. Then the race started, Ultionis set the pace — and the
host fell off the server.
[19:11:33] Connection to server timed out
Phaserlight came back twice in two minutes to an empty finish line and one
question:

the finish order?

<Ultionis> i think azry, ashanti lunar

The racers called it, and the racers were right. The tubes were queried the
next day and the order holds: Ultionis 01:13.606, Azryayix gyarz 01:22.423,
Ashanti of The Sands 01:32.023, Lunar Shadow 01:36.192.
E-5 went to Ultionis in a new record 01:24.288. Lunar Shadow finished, but
not happily —

— and Ashanti, not yet in his racing ship, did not finish at all:

He was not. One more teleport to N-2, one more teleport back, and in F-5 he
came home 1.164 seconds behind Azryayix:

Lunar Shadow clipped out of F-5, and Ultionis — record number three of the
night, 01:20.255 — spent the gap before the last race handing out lines:

<Ultionis> no problem, watch out for the protruding station chunk here
The final race was Sedina H-5. Ultionis took it in 01:17.888, his fourth new
record of the night, and so ended the season the way he spent it: in front.
Azryayix crossed second, Ashanti third. Lunar Shadow did not finish.

Last week Ultionis asked whether Azryayix was out of Superlights. This week
Azryayix flew a Centurion Superlight in every race and set personal bests in
four of the five tubes — E-5 by almost nineteen seconds.
Final: Ultionis 125, another clean sweep. Azryayix gyarz 87. Lunar Shadow and
Ashanti of The Sands tied for third on 45 apiece.
COURSE RECORDS
Every time below was set during a scored Tube Racing event, from the first
series in April 2025 through the present. Only a pilot's single best run in
each sector is listed, so no name appears twice on a board.
Four of five records fell on the final night, all to the man who already held
them. Only D-5 survived — 01:12.768, his own, by eight tenths.

Movement: Ultionis takes 125 and becomes the first pilot past a thousand,
finishing on 1115. Azryayix gyarz takes 87 and moves to 754 — twelve events
from twelve, the only pilot who has never missed one. Ashanti of The Sands
climbs from eleventh into a tie for sixth with Westacular, and Lunar Shadow
jumps three places, from thirteenth to tenth.
SEASON TWO IN NUMBERS
Six Wednesdays, September 2nd to October 7th. Twenty-nine races — one tube
lost to a Hive Leviathan in E-5 on the 23rd.
Ultionis started twenty-four of them and won twenty-three. The one that got
away was F-5 on opening night. He has not been beaten across a finish line
since.
The other six went to Westacular (three), storm_titty (two) and Payne (one).

the records stand on this page, and the lifetime leaderboard carries over to
whenever the lights come back on.
Thank you to everyone who lined up, sat still on "set", and waited for the
host to reconnect. Somebody out there still owes Ultionis a 48.
