I have the 12th named goli!
What the hell do you do with these things?
So far blowing up unrats point blank with avs has proven effective albeit annoying because I have to go reload in station, what other shenanigans can I pull off with this thing?
Seems it's best application is to run ships given that it's quite a bit faster than a dent whilst still keeping 75% of the cargo capacity.

Great for attacking other player cap ships or taking out whole groups of attacking players. Station defense. Massacre bots with your capitol rail guns. Go to unknown system and spend some actual time there since you will have repair/reload capabilities.. The list of fun things to do is never ending with a player cap ship.
Oh and I forgot... I got #6 :P
Thanks for the suggestions, so far all the only thing that's been resonating in my head is how "overpowered" these things are.
Seems like the only way to have a chance at killing these is with other capships or at the very least a second player in a subcap but given the advent of caprail and people that script alts to spam capswarm/firecrackers that's a very slim proposition.
Turrets need to die when goli's get deshielded and ammo needs to persist between leaving/manning a turret - Beyond that these are very cool and despite the inherent jank of the recycled interface which seems to be mostly recycled from stations and is ever so slightly inadequate. I have to tip my hat to the devs because they actually implemented fully functional player owned capships something that fifteen years ago seemed impossible and nothing short of a pipe dream.
It really shows that the station interface wasn't built with this in mind that said it's still perfectly useable and very adequate given the limited devtime resources.
Haxmeister, yer forum sig takes up more space than yer nan's marital aids.

turrets die when you shoot avalons at a capship.
Spidey.. how did you know about my Nan's marital aids?
I agree with everything you said though. They did an awesome job with the player caps. I recommend a plugin called "turret hop" to enhance usability without needing multiple accounts.
Something that is really fun for me is locking the turbo and barreling through unrats or other bots or players while I switch to the caprail in the back and start popping people... I've had a lot of laughs and excitement with both players and bots doing this... highly recommended!

Also a single player can destroy another player's Goliath without help. Though it highly depends on the skill and loadout of the goli. Basically a de-shielding followed by PCB and energy. Some players have become particularly good at it and certainly it is much easier with 2 players. YT-1300 comes to mind.. he has many single handed capship kills under his belt.
Goliaths seem pretty vulnerable relative to tridents, a megaposi taur or tungmaud with megaposis and PCB shouldn't have too hard a time, granted the defending pilot doesn't undock something or has a bunch of turret alts in there.
I blew one up the other day in my goli without breaking a sweat, deshielded it with a rag then chased it down with a gat turret mkII on the goli until the unlucky sod popped in B8.
that said a goli loaded up with turret alts is a different beast because you'll have swarm/firecracker missiles chasing you down and if you open yourself up to a caprail turret (those really oughta get their damage knocked down a notch) that'll be it for the attacker.
If anything I'd like to see avalons buffed by 10~20% and caprail take a similar nerf.
Caprails are cheese as all fuck because you don't really have to deal with your tiny ship's spin&inertia to aim them, making aiming extremely easy because you're not dragging around ~6000kg of front-heavy ship to aim the damn things not to mention they do as much damage as a full volley of adv-rails off a hornet which take another 10s to refire versus the 3s delay for cap rails.
TL;DR: Goli's are insanely strong and borderline OP in many scenarios freakin' love em! (Caprails need to be neutered)
