VOID...
my dear friends, what you have failed to understand many of times, VOID is not a guild, it is not the players, but in fact, VOID is an idea, perhaps a religion.
SWA is VOID. FAMY is VOID. we are everywhere, yet nowhere.
as long as one, yes but one single pilot contains a hint of the VOID inside themselves, VOID will continue to devour endlessly.

FAMY is not VOID, and if VOID is an idea it's about as good an idea as Donald Trump, President of the United States of America.

If VOID is a bad idea, why did it take 14 guilds to still lose to them?

Oh, and VOID pretty much assimilated FAMY within a month of establishing, it never recovered, to this day.

As much as it pains me to say, VOID existed before VOID existed, which makes TRS's argument VOID. I used to f'king hate it when Lector got one over on me and said "The Void awaits..."

I want to comment on this because it's one of those things that while seeming true on the surface glosses over a lot of subtleties that make it a lot less sensational.
The players of VO are hungry for new content and new things to do. They latch on to new ideas that gain enough critical mass to overcome the inertia that is the status quo. It's why TRI basically out-TGFT'd TGFT even though TGFT had more name recognition and backstory. FAMY survived it when LAW became a thing because FAMY rebranded itself to become the new shiny as Family Galactic Travel. TRS had a huge hand in that and that was an amazing time in VO's history. I talk about this a bit in my PewChatDie interview, if that's still up on Lazy's YouTube channel. So much activity in that period, so much RP. But TRS moved on to other things. I've moved on to other things. YT has done a great job keeping the mantle going but there isn't the momentum to rebrand the guild returned to a state more similar to its roots...a pirate guild with good people who enjoy making tthe universe a more interesting place to be.
VOID basically became the new LAW. They have a catchy name. They overcame inertia. They have some vets to give it teeth and I'm happy that it's doing well. But its success is more rooted in the fact that it's just the new shiny and not so much that they've done anything exceptionally noteworthy that hasn't been done a hundred other times in VO's history. So kudos to VOID for their continued livelihood and success. Enjoy it while it's here because tomorrow is guaranteed to nobody.
