Inflation

I’m going to talk about something related to the static trade routes BUT not drama filled. The price of parts in the game has not gone up in years. These days when I mention the price I’m willing to sell something for, members if major trading guilds will openly mock me in 100. Which is fine, as I am not a trader, but a simple mining enthusiast.

Some people wish to pay 15-20k a piece for SSS. The problem is, years of using static trade routes has actually devalued how much a single credit is worth (in my eyes). Static trade routes are the equivalent of a nation state unstoppingly printing money. With that in mind, the VO player to player economy needs a serious correction.

The easiest way of doing this is double the common price of everything. So instead of 20k for sss, the price will be 40k. And instead of 25 mil for a data agg, the price will be 50 mil. Etc etc. I call out to the producers of Venetta Online (the SSS farmers, and the manufactures) to please increase your prices so you can make a honest living. You all deserve a living wage.

inc should implement this.

I already set my SSS price to 50k a while ago, but sure I don't mind doubling the price of everything.

Tridents are now worth 4.2b and Goliaths 1.6b

All the player owned storebots should mirror this correction in the player economy.

Agreed.

I have stocks of Hposis, Queen gats, Law neuts, widowmakers etc. lying around unsold because their prices have actually been deflating for some time. Hposis are selling at a low of 300-350k and law neuts have gone down to 300k. Same goes for SSS which I have seen being sold for a low of 5-10k.

While this could partially be due to static route trading, I also believe that the sudden increase in shopbots and the competition amongst their owners have further pushed the prices down, as these are usually looked upto as a standard for pricing goods.

The economy doesn't change just because you are asking nicely.

At [TRI], we set our own prices. This is done based on how much time we spend building these things, and how much we think time is worth. We broke all these factors down in spreadsheets that I don't care to find at the moment. In short, we've worked hard on setting our prices so we'll be keeping them the same.

Anyone thinking of posting something along the lines of "yea but you guys never have anything to sell", you can save your energy. We are well aware that our services aren't what they used to be, and are working to improve this. One thing is certain though. It isn't our current prices that are keeping us from building.
