They are popular but not in a good way. In an infamous/nefarious way. If you like being harassed by angry people who got cheated and taken advantage of, by all means join TGFT. They try to pass off as innocent well meaning traders but that's not what they are.

You really haven't played VO properly until you have ganked TGFT. What I am seeing right now is that TGFT only exists to jump into H-2/B-8 and instantly get blown up. Maybe turn TGFT into some sort of hive enemy? Kind of like NPC pirates but they run a lot more.
