While I obviously disagree as to what TGFT's intent was, I otherwise do agree with Greenwall's assessment (about Neon Black's plugin vs. TGFT Utilities, I mean; not his assessment regarding VOID's winning-ness). That said, I do think there's a decent case to be made that plugins are a big enough part of the game that by choosing to play the game and use plugins, you consent to the possibility that a plugin may be used against you within the context of the game -- similar to how you consent to the possibility that another player might destroy your ship and/or steal your cargo, costing you time to replace the lost property. As far as I'm concerned, both TGFT's and Neon Black's actions with plugins have constituted in-game villainy, not real-world villainy. It's part of their evil corporate RP.

I do find that kind of thing distasteful, though, and I have zero desire to engage in it myself. I prefer doing my plugin development as Pizzasgood rather than Rin Ganborro. That's not quite the same thing as saying that I think it should be against the rules to make hostile plugins, however.

Rin, the issue is not what the plugin did, it's how it was put into play. If the hostile "weaponsgroups" bank stealing plugin that Neon and Darth developed was placed on voupr, even with a deceptive description that completely avoided any hint of what it actually did, it would be MUCH less of an issue (still an issue, but less of one than it is now). People downloading something from the internet and installing it out of misplaced and unchecked curiosity assume a lot more of the risk and responsibility for what happens after they open the game and initiate the plugin.

In the case of Darth and Neon, they specifically targetted, coaxed and convinced Blaqk to install a plugin with the sole intenst of stealing in game credits from him, which can easily be attributed a real-world value. Darth and Neon are in essence no different from malware emails and websites telling you to click a link that proceeds to infect your computer and steal information, initiate a hijack, join a DDOS botnet, or whatever other shitty things they do.

The only thing I'm trying to point out is the moral hypocrisy of those who are high-fiving Neon and Darth while having shamed TGFT relentlessly. I think I've done that.

Lol bullshit. Voupr is not a central repository for plugins, nor is it sanctioned by devs, nor does it give any more validity to a plugin.

TGFT utilities sends more info to TGFT then they should get from non-members, at least it did last time I looked. Which was not recently.

How about if I just link you to the analysis I did of that plugin back in 2015 and leave you to make your own conclusions? Keep in mind that this information is two years old now, so it may not be 100% applicable to the latest version of TGFT Utilities.
