Looking for Elite Mentor

Dec 21, 2016 Formica link
I'm going to get straight to the point, I don't want a newbie mentor, I don't want someone who will troll around and not teach me anything. I want someone who can truly enlighten me and make me a functioning member of the universe.

I am a Serco member, interested in eventually joining the Serco military, so it goes without saying I would like a mentor from the Serco nation. A UIT mentor would be acceptable, as long as you aren't in the Itani military.

I have started 2 days ago, and currently at 1/1/-/1/1, and would like to get to 4/4/4/4/4 soon.

I would like to specialize in combat, mainly with the Deneb war. Hives as well, don't waste my time with bots.

Mining is also important to me, so pointers on where to find rare ores would be accepted.

Thanks to all the elite for reading this. Respond to this thread if interested.

I said elite, as in people who don't mess around. I have a feeling you don't meet that requirement of mine... Please, feel free to correct me if I'm wrong.

Please keep this thread clear unless you are genuinely interested to mentor.

Deneb is mostly pve (with some pvp aswell), still interested? I cannot participate nor help you win it, but i can teach you about it.

Seems your on mobile and F2P, are you willing to sub in the future?

For winning deneb, you'll have to learn some basic stuff which can be gained in pvp and pve (yes, bots...), are you willing to do that?

I wont point you where you can find rare ores, but how to find them.

Aside of that: it seems you want high quality mentoring (ie, high quality service) while being a F2P. Dosnt that seem to be a bit wrong to you?
If im "elite" or not, idc, thats for others to judge. Just wanted to get this started.

Welcome to Vendetta Online, Formica.

It is good to see you plan on joining the military. There has been a lack of players choosing the path of an actual "nationalist" for their nation recently.

I have to agree with Xeha that it seems odd that you look for an "elite" mentor while being a free-to-play user which are usually frowned upon among the full subscribers who have been playing a while.
(I get the idea that you are f2p from you aiming for the straight 4s which are the current level cap for f2p.)

To be any useful in Deneb, you need access to a Ragnarok Mk3, Gemini Homing Missiles and Chaos Swarm missile Launchers. That alone takes levels higher than 4s and especially it requires being independant from the Crystal-system that f2pers/lites have to put up with. And in the end I would recommend playing on a PC to maximize your chances of being a good bomber in Deneb.

The same basically applies to PvP which you also seem to be wanting to learn. The good equipment (SkyCommand Prometheus, in your Serco-case and good weapons like the Sunflare Rocket Launcher) is unlocked at higher levels than only 4s and require a full subscription aswell.

And if you want to get really tactical, you'll want your own capship (Trident Type M) to work as a support in Deneb war. Building one of those is a massive undertaking and of course requires... a full subscription!

I could teach you most of what you want to learn. I play an UIT character as main and am mostly a grey space killer/pirate. But I do basically all the stuff in the game and could show you how to "bomb" with Avalons at the example of a Leviathan. If you can deshield those on your own, you can deshield anything in Deneb.
As a grey space killer, I obviously also really enjoy doing PvP and probably could teach you one another thing in that, too

But my requirement to ever put up with teaching new mobile players again is that you have a full subscription and if possible, plan to eventually play on a PC. I've tried to "mentor" or "show around" mobile newcomers three or four times, with the result that they were either horribly immature, never logged in again or were demanding and unthankful. And I don't need that in a game that I mostly play to relax.

Anyway, enjoy your stay in VO!

I don't frown upon this at all, but I doubt I'm what you're looking for in a mentor.

Not really; fighter support is also a very important role.

I'm not sure they are 'putting up with' the system as much as 'taking advantage' of it. You also don't need to be a full subscriber to get that loadout; Sedina D-14 offers:

Ragnarok MkIII at 3/1/3/-/-
Chaos Swarm Missile Launcher at -/-/4/-/-

The Gemini missile launcher becomes available everywhere that sells it at -/4/-/-/-

I recommend seeking out TheRedSpy. Otherwise, if you are called to the Deneb War, just hang out in Geira Rutilus and hook up with a passing Serco headed for the front line.

Am I elite enough??

If you still played or were in touch with the game, you'd frown too.

Not really; fighter support is also a very important role.

In a big skirmish, fighter support is basically useless when you're Serco since the risk of some Itani showing up with their Tridents is really high. And then you need to be a good bomber and sink their HAC fast or you'll lose.

You also don't need to be a full subscriber to get that loadout; Sedina D-14 offers:[...]

Yeah. But what fun is it to always fly to Corvus to grab C-Swarms?

I recommend seeking out TheRedSpy.

He does not play actively anymore.

hi Formica!

i can not help you with what you need since I am really not into combat. i am trader AND Itani. haha.
but i can give you recommendations on who to ask of those who seemed willing to help. Niki for example is an Itani nationalist. thats why he is making fun of you. do NOT go to him. he wilm kill you. haha!
Xeha is a successful and very rich trader for TRI. but they also PVP sometimes and bot a lot to get material for their manufacturing. he is also great at writing plugins. he could teach you a lot!
Sieger is a pirate of the guild VOID. he mostly kills players in grey space. hes generally an experienced allrounder, knows a ton of tricks and can even solo Leviathans. he's one of the best active PvPers. so if you seek combat practise, go to him.
; Sieger is one of the most experienced players we have. i'd pick him as a mentor any day. .

other people i would recommend to go to:

GrandpaWash - a very active Serco nationalist
BigNasty - Leader of ONE, the biggest Serco guild
ARF-01 - Leader of the biggest Itani guild. i'm sure he can give you tips about Deneb even when you are serco.
TRI guild - to buy weaponry for Deneb and maybe have it delivered
TGFT - same a TRI. we sometimes sell weapons and deliver them.

good luck!

Look, you wanna be elite? You gotta do a righteous hack. None of this accidental shit.

I think this thread is destined to be moved to Role Playing sometime soon.

It's just.. too elite for General.

I bet the OP is too elite to read and respond... Move it to RP ;)
