Unexpected result of the NT/Serco treaty
It has been said many times before: golds/reds griefing blues has exploded since the treaty. Today they even tried a blockade of 4 by sealing up 7 and 8. However, this mess really had an unexpected outcome: Itanis stick together like never before. The blockade was ended within minutes, after Itanis started an organized attack first on 8, and then on 7. Some time later tonight a gold griefer jumped me in 7 (I wouldn't call him a pirate, he shot at a valk and didn't ask to jettison first). A fellow blue came to assist me within seconds and the pirate was allowed to leave in a bus after we were done with him. For what I care, this treaty can go on forever. It just makes us Itani stronger.
And this had to be posted WHY? The ONLY result of this thread will be to increase tensions in an already VERY tense community and is essentially an inflammatory post.
Yeah, um, this is the RP boards. So it should be used for ingame content and story jazz. Such as this is.
Furbally, don't start. You say this is an inflammitory post? It's merely a confirmation of the unprovoked attacks by the RGA. Look at the stats, for pete's sake. The Itani isn't even in the lead! Neutral is in the lead! All the data is in this week's chronicle...
in reply to andreas' post:
it is always easier to break through a blockade than to keep the blockade up.
why?
the party blockading s4 has to cover two sectors at once, thus it needs at least twice as much able pilots as the part being blockaded.
plus you have no idea where exactly the locked-in party is going to strike.
furthermore, in s4 you have an immediate supply of valkyries (which _are_ the best ship for this purpose, the enemy being likely to have heavier ships to mine preferred routes, further increasing the personnel needed for blockading any area).
and in case you'd like to disagree: i have history on my side, methinks. e.g.: england was blockaded quite often. their superior naval warfare skills as well as the ineptitude of their opponents never held them in check for very long.

Rule, Britannia; Britannia rules the waves...
"I wouldn't call him a pirate, he shot at a valk and didn't ask to jettison first".
Errrr... you don't ask players in valks to jettison. Nobody trades in Valkyries. DumB.

Nothin' here. Move on, people. Move on.
Do not make this another source of flames. Do not.

I trade in a Valk :(
To clarify: The blockade started after a Neutral/Serco attempt to steal the blue flag failed after an intense fight. Serco and Neutral declared the blockade active as a sort of punishment for us stopping them capping.
The initial force that attacked the blockade consisted of two tri-flare valks, two Vultures and a Ragnarok with half-empty swarmer tubes. One member of the squadron went into s7 directly, while the rest went through s8 to s7.
This had the desired effect - the blockaders in s8 must have reported the 4 of us entering, because many of the blockaders in s7 jumped over. When they realized their mistake and turned around, they found all five of use waiting in s7.
After the inital five minutes of fighting, Phoenix logged on, and happened to be homed in s7. We had already destroyed two of the enemy valks at the cost of one of our own, and when Phoenix undocked it was pretty much over. I myself ended up with 4 kills and 0 deaths, mostly the result of the unspoken teamwork amongst the Itani who participated in the operation.

Yes they do, and thats exactly the point.

Yup, this weak "treaty" is doing wonders for Itani. I have not seen the team chat as organised or as coordinated in recent memory. Keep it up, this is brilliant...
Right now, the S/NT treaty is beenfitting the Sercos and NTs well too. I agree that keeping a Blockade is harder than Breaking a Blockade. The SDF will continue to support the treaty until the treaty is completely destroyed but I beleive that the S/NT Treaty will remain for a while longer simply because the S and NTs are benefitting by the increased defense perimeters and open trade inside those areas while the Itani's are forced to remain near their territory while the Ss and NTs fly freely.
[SDF] Black 1
CO, SDF

i flew freely enough the other day to make a million more creds, good job their SDF, protect those borders *thumbs up*
oh wait, I'm blue, that means you sucked
haha sucker
haha sucker
Okay, did any of who got attacked under the treaty take names (Itani need not apply)? It's very easy for a spy to hop on any nation for the intent of breaking the treaty by creating a commotion. PLEASE remember or write down the name of any aggressors so that we can look into whether it was loyal Neutral/Serco pilot, or whether it was some dumb spy. There are tons of Itani who would love to break the treaty with deceit. Don't let them fool you.
When I logged on today, half the people said the treaty was still going on. The other half said it was over. I found it hard to believe, considering 95% of the people who said it was over was actually of Itani origin. Ooops! Nevertheless, even if it's over I'd like to continue peaceful relations with Serco pilots. It seems I made far more Serco friends than Itani friends along the way and I'd hate to pirate 'em spontaneously all because someone dropped the hammer on the treaty.
