An explanation of how the bounty system works.

Well f*** it, bounty grinding has come to to forefront by others so I feel obliged to share what I know.
Rule 1: You must be hated by the nation or sub faction for them to place a bounty. If you are not hated by a nation, no matter how may players/AI you kill, you will not get a bounty. This is also useful because if you do get a bounty on your head but do not want one? Just gain favour with that faction again and the bounty will go away. For example, if you are UiT hated, and get a bounty placed on you head, just go raise your faction back above -600, the bounty will magically go away.
Rule 2: You CANNOT get a sub faction bounty by killing players. Although sub factions may give players certain protections, you cannot get a sub faction bounty by killing players. No player is TPG/Xang XI/Tung etc. You ONLY get a sub faction bounty if the kills you get are of their Sub Faction. For example, if you would like to get an Orion Bounty, you have to kill Orion bots. These can be trade bots in monitored space, but killing players who are Orion +600 does not count. Not even +1000 players count, they are still their own faction. To score a sub faction bounty you have to be hated by that faction, and kill pilots of it's faction in some kind of monitored space.
For example: I chase an NPC TPG Moth to Verasi C-2 and kill it there, that counts towards a TPG bounty. I chase and kill SoSo in a Moth who is Itani to Verasi C-2 and kill him there, that counts towards an Itani bounty.
Rule 3: You cannot get a Corvus bounty, ever. Even If you get a bounty while in Corvus space, it is not placed by Corvus itself. It will probably be placed by one of the three factions, one that you are hated by.
Rule 4: Each faction (and sub faction) can only place a maximum of 1 million c bounty, and this is accumulative per 7 days. For example, if I get a TPG bounty one week @ 200k and this bounty is claimed, the next weeks bounty will start at 200k + 10k for every TPG pilot I kill (the empty "traffic" bots do not count) and so on. So once you have the first bounty, the rest are easier, The max per faction is 1 million. Once you hit that every bounty by that faction will be a million.
Anyway, enjoy the bounty grind. I am sure the way it is laid out seems a little strange, but with experience should become a little clearer. Go enjoy the prizes, I know I can get a better prize by just getting a big bounty and sharing ;-)
