The important point about the IDF vs the X-1 is that ship mesh actually has a material effect on the manuverability of the ship in the sense that it has an impact on the way the cruise speed is applied so it determines how manuverable a ship is. It could be there case that the X-1's shape far outweighs the stat advantage of the IDV but we can't know for sure.

Wat?
I'm not just trying to be snide here. I'm genuinely curious about what you mean by this.

Wat indeed...

it has an impact on the way the cruise speed is applied

It affects the ship's moment of inertia, not acceleration. All of the valks are pretty much round though, so it's not really noticeable when turning. The only buff the IDF has over the X-1 is +5N of turbo thrust, which doesn't affect maneuverability at all. It's only slightly faster in a straight line.

The smaller frontal profile is a big deal though and the X-1 should probably have a bit less armor for it.

My favorites that haven't already been listed half a dozen times already:

- Vulture MkIII, 2x Ineubis Ravens, FC Power Cell. "The 10k Special"
- Ragnarok MkIII, 3x Sunflares, Gatling MkII, Lightning Mine, and a FC Power Cell. "Mjölnir"
- Warthog Territorial Defender, Plasma Annihilator, Gemini Missile, Heavy Power Cell.
- Centurion Itani Border Guardian, 2x Neutron MkIII, Heavy Power Cell. "IDF Standard Issue"
- TPG Atlas Type X, Megaposi, Power Cell Blaster, Gemini Turret, FC Power Cell.

Edit: correction.

You're ignoring the fact that IDF weighs 100kg less than X-1. As we all know, mass affects everything, including rotational thrust. The difference is negligible if you slap 2x suns on it, but it's noticeable if you only equip a single cwm, which I usually do.

This time, I am just trying to be snide, but come on. This is a simple enough thing that being right shouldn't be a matter of degrees of how wrong you are.

PS: here's the word you guys are looking for.

Thanks mister physics. I couldn't think of the right term.

Since we're being pedantic, wouldn't that be torque, not "rotational thrust?"

EC-101 MKII w/ dual charged cannons. Only the best for me.
Nov 02, 2015 joylessjoker link
Correct terminology or not, my point remains. Less mass means faster turning, all other things equal.

IBG/Rev-C - Any energy loadout under 4200kg total mass (gauss sucks stay away from it)
best overall light fighter is definitely the IBG with dual hive posis

Valk X-1 with a single xgx blaster and two lenbs/hive posis/ravens for when i'm feeling particularly evil

rail/jackhammer hog works on any hog other than the greyhound *userails mk2 and screamers for hardmode

megaposi/sunflare WTD hog (substitute the sunflare for a light positron gun and you get a great balance of DPS/DPE whilst staying pretty nimble)

Advrails/jackhammer rag I bind the rails to m1 and each jackhammer to their own mousebuttons really slow and heavy but the rails can hit at a distance and if you're good with rockets the .25 effective jackhammer fire rate will make opponents hesitate to close the distance since its pretty helpless in close quarters

Dual gat turret heavy batt tung taur with a single sunflare - this one doesn't need an explanation i just call it the shredder

centurion mk1 with a single flechette cannon mk2 and a hot pink paintjob for when i feel cocky

Performance:

IBG/Rev C with a neut2 and lawneut.
Valk X-1 with a neut2 and lawneut, or raven and lawneut (basically an IBG with half again as much armor).
Valk X-1 with lawneut, raven, and orion XGX (my old classic).
WTD or Atlas X with a lawneut and megaposi (uber DPS).
Corvult with AAPs (75m/s for distance sniping).

Fun:
EC107 with dual neut2s, flares, or popcorn (for fun, challenging practice fights).
Taur 3/Tung Taur with dual chainfired jackhammers and a neut (The Jackhammer).
Valk X-1 with three chainfired charged cannons (not sure if this one still works, The Chainsaw).

I use heavy cells for all-energy rigs, except valks, where a UC lets me chase stuff.
