You know, SKV being a small organized guild is all about working as a team so when duty calls - it means just that - duty calls.
Duty takes precedence over fun. We were all having fun fighting with our 'arch nemesis' Bob until you rudely interrupted us.
In spite of that, Misty was kind enough to fulfill Bob's wish first and then come to defend.

If Nick did not barricade himself in the station with our complete stash of booze and refused to open the door, probably nobody would have bothered to go defend.

You guys don't get it, TGFT attacks stations with no hope of winning on purpose to interrupt whatever else SKV is doing. It only takes one person flying through and swarming turrets every 15 min to keep SKV busy "defending" stations.

It's a valid annoyance tactics and it sometimes work to a point where available SKV pilots have to prioritize between several tasks.
Your annoyance tactics actually helped us improve our skills of making decisions under pressure.

However, every action has consequences, the more you 'ring' the alarms, the more we are willing to go the extra mile to find TGFT targets and eliminate them with extreme prejudice.

i.e. the more we ring the alarms the less nationalistic you are.

Logic dictates that, if our station (i.e. base of operations) is attacked it takes precedence over other military action so yes, if we are in a situation to choose between defending our station for a limited period of time or chase other hostiles around - we will choose to defend our base.
After we eliminate the threat to the base (usually 20-30 min) we return to our other duties.

Does defending bases that Itani use for their operations against Serco forces make us less of a patriots?
If we apply your faulty logic - maybe, but it truly does not.
TGFT is just a minor annoyance and by doing what you do - you are steadily working on homogenizing the entire Itani nation against you.

Logic dictates that you engage the enemies you've chosen by being Itani Nationalists (i.e. serco nationalists) and not attack or interfere with peaceful traders.

The only thing illogical is your guild description on the VO website. If you'd just change that to match your in game behavior then I wouldn't have anything to complain about.

Itani nation has a millennia long conflict with the Serco Dominion. In addition to fighting this war , SKV has another war going on with TGFT.

One war dos not negate the other and SKV are fighting on both fronts.

This does not change the fact that SKV are Itani patriots fighting for their nation and, as long as TGFT continues attacking Itani held stations, it makes you the enemies of the entire Itani nation too.

"Peaceful traders" as you call yourself, in spite of the public opinion that dictates otherwise, are the aggressors against Itani nation and will be treated as such.

You were given the opportunity to end this war by surrendering on our terms.
You refused so the terms set for your surrender are now void.
If and ever another terms for your surrender will be put on the table, they will be much harsher then our previous offer.

We are peaceful traders and only exhibit aggression when we are faced with hostility - i.e. being shot unprovoked, being pirated or not having access to a conquerable station. Any conflicts that arise outside of that we seek diplomatic resolution. Those who resist diplomatic resolution, whether through obstinance or levelling unreasonable terms of concession, display a preference for continued hostility over peace.

SKV propaganda does not equate to public opinion, though I can see how you might easily confuse the two inside your bubble.

A state of war exists between TGFT and SKV.

After your refusal of our initial terms for your surrender, diplomatic solution is off the table.

Asking TGFT to pay 1 billion credits for peace is absurd as SKV asking TGFT to pay 1 billion credits for peace. TGFT will not "surrender" to anyone. We will, however, come to a reasonable and mutually beneficial agreement.
