Hmm, I've got an idea. We shall conquer Serco, and then make Neutrals our slaves. Hmm..sounds like a plan..

Recipe of the Month Club
from Modern Serco House-Slave

Itani Pie

Prep-time: 15 minutes, plus butchering.
Bake Time: 1.5 hours
Serves a clan hall

Ingredients:
-1 Itani captive, 19-30yrs. If slave raids have been fruitless lately, substitute lean ground round, but you're missing the flavour.
-1 whole orange
-10 prepared pie crusts. Whole wheat if possible, as it provides necessary nutrients for healthy warriors.
~1/4 cup Habanero pepper sauce
1/2 Tbsp. Allspice
Cinnamon to taste

Preparation:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
Carefully wash and butcher the Itani,
<Li'l house-slave reminds you, say the proper prayers or your pie will be cursed!>
drain blood from the carcass, debone, then grind meat to a light burger consistency. Peel the orange, setting the peel aside. Combine with Itaniburger, and stir in half of the blood. Set the rest aside. Add allspice and Habanero, blending in until meat is bright red.

Dispense to pie crusts, packing until flat. Roll out top crusts, and cover the pies. Carve the name of the Itani captive into each pie's top crust. If you used ground beef, write "Anonymous Donor." Divide the blood evenly between the crusts, bless your pies, and place in the clan's oven for 1.5 hours at 250 degrees.

Throw the orange peels out on the back lawn.

When pies are done, sprinkle each with cinnamon, and serve chilled.

Out-of-character:
The purpose of this thread is to recruit literate players with a good grasp of the storyteller's art and cadence, and an understanding of Serco culture's source-myths (largely Norse deity structure, with a smattering of the Greek acceptance for female heroes, and a very slight sprinkle of traditional Japanese military conduct code).

In-character:
I am here to consider roles. The job of the military commander is to guide the ships of his troops on and off the field of battle. My task as the keeper of lore is to provide that same guidance for our soldiers' souls. No battle is complete until it is matched with a legend from our past. No contemporary act is without a precursor legend. No legend is without its contemporary partner. However, I am temporarily without a ship, and unable to record the events of the day that they may be spun into legend around the victory flame. Thus, I come to you, my fellow Serco. Should you find that the words of Serco herself flow from your tongue, that you can weave a tale to inspire your companions, and that you have sufficient background in storytelling to accomplish this feat, come to me, and I shall guide you in the ways of a Keeper of Lore.

We Serco have something no other nation has: A soul.
The Itani are known for their traitorous nature because they think to pay their pilots to fly. Pay them! What sort of loyalty can one expect to gain from an army whose soldiers fight only for their next paycred? Will they fight harder for a bonus? Why do they even bother?
When our brave warriors fly into battle, they do so with no fear of death, and with Serco's name upon their lips, a fierce cry to strike terror into the hearts of our foes. Their paycred is the satisfaction of watching an enemy disintegrate in their sights. Their bonus is knowing that what they did was done for the glory of Lady Serco, that her memory may live forever.

They are Itani, at least while the credits flow.

We are Serco, We are mighty, We are eternal, and no puny mercenary squad may stand in the way of the victorious!

Oh I was going to try to restart the flow that I allegedly interrupted with a rant about your questionable Itani lineage and the true reason you were unable to sustain your part of this thread, but then I decided I didn't want to appear partisan (*/shouts* that means "biased" - not that I live in Paris!)

Wouldn't that be "Parisan" or something?
