This is not roleplaying. This is satirical commentary. It deserves to be in General as much as Funny Quotes does.

The Funny Quotes thread is a kind of natural border between in-game chat and the Forums; I understand why it's in General. It's one of those things that I think would evolutionarily occur one way or another, given enough time.

Your thread was ostensibly created to satirize a particular poster (first entry 3 minutes after the thread began) whose viewpoint you did not agree with in a different thread. This gives it less cause to be in General than a thread created with the intent of say, "let's talk about topic X HERE" - which your thread is similar to, but the speed at which you indicated another poster leads me to believe this thread was as much for his benefit as the community as a whole.

The tone of the thread is also rather tongue-in-cheek, which might be confusing to any visitors to our forums; if someone wandered in to General and came across this thread at the top, they might think Vendetta is a game about... marginalizing those you do not agree with. The Funny Quotes thread encompasses not just satire, although it is often satirical; it's also full of irony, and sometimes crude humor. The thread is not directed toward a particular user and on the surface no-one is prompting authors of Funny-Quotes entries; they happen based on interactions in-game. Your thread begins with the prompt of a "new theraputic environment where those who can't get over their disdain and unusually severe aversion to a mainstay of VO weaponry", which is pretty specific, and quickly follows up with an example of a poster from another thread whose line of reasoning ran contrary to your own.

edit:I'm really giving this thread the benefit of the doubt (as a volunteer forum-moderator-helper-thing) of being role-playing at all. My first inclination after reading the first couple posts was to lock it, but I'm learning not to go with my first reaction most of the time (there's usually a gentler way). There are plenty of good role-playing threads here, this thread may be a spoof of them at best... and I kind of like the whole support group vibe your first post had. There's humor here, but it needed to be tempered.

Well, let me just say that this conversation is not appropriate for The Tissue Room. This facility is for treatment of people with severe mental confoundment about guided missiles, not for debate about what or what isn't appropriate for whatever.

Secondly, just because TRS is the first client, he by no means is the only one we ever expect to have. He just happened to be the most recent person to have voiced his anxiety issues re: guided missiles. We know there are more out there.

But, on a happier note, you all should know TheRedSpy is responding positively to treatment. We only hope he stays with treatment and doesn't relapse like it's so easy to do.

I'm Mecha, and I'm a bit of a sociopath. I have paranoid and violent tendencies. I also greatly loathe phaserlight. Recently I have found doodling really helps me vent.

Rin Ganborro staggers into the room smelling of ozone, a trail of bloody bootprints tracing his route from the hangar. He looks around quizzically for a few moments as though searching for something, before shrugging and lighting a match, which he drops onto the mound of tissues cluttering the floor. Ignoring the startled cries from the room's assorted occupants, he dons a fire-retardant glove, fishes a taco out of a pocket, and warms it over the fire while humming a merry tune. When the station's outdated sprinkler system kicks in to douse the blaze, Rin simply activates his shoulder-mounted umbrella without missing a beat. Not long after, he withdraws his steaming hand and takes a crunchy bite from the singed and sizzling morsel. As he turns and wanders off in the general direction of Gehosofat's Spacious Ships, he can be heard mumbling something about "beating the gremlins to the loot" over the crackle and hiss of the conflagration.
