Event description:

Corvus is seeking pilots to aid in a special research event, examining mineralogical evidence located in Sedina D-14.

Pilots interested in assisting with this latest research effort should assemble in Sedina D-14, 15 minutes prior to the start of the event. Rewards will be based on individual performance.

Note that Corvus has no vested interest in the safety of any individual pilot, and some pilots at this event may be from mutually hostile backgrounds. As such, it is recommended that you bring a rig capable of both mining and combat. You may be destroyed!

Arrive at Sedina D-14 on time and join channel 3434 if you wish to participate.

Research parameters:
-Ore must be freshly mined at Sedina D-14 when the event begins
-No warping out during the event, but you may return if you are destroyed
-Pure 10 cu samples accepted only; try to make "eye contact" before dropping a sample

Awesome event. My only suggestion is you use your magical guide powers to spawn some capship parts as prizes or something to get people's attention!

Nice vid. The "Corvus standing decreased enormously" message was due to the NFZ, I take it; I want to make sure no-one suffered any permanent standing loss due to the event.

I don't know about using capship parts as prizes; that's kind of a.... large prize, from my perspective. If that ever were going to be the case perhaps someone could donate one that he or she actually manufactured, but using guide powers to magically introduce parts doesn't strike me as a good idea (not to mention I don't even have this power).

Well Sanan won the event with a 550k prize, but made a net loss when you consider repairs on the skyproms and lost ships from glitchy strikeforce and seekers. I ran a massive net loss with 3-4 skyproms lost to aerna seekers and lots more repairs.

The point is people want to come in and feel like they gain some money or something from participating in the event, and they aren't going to feel like that if you don't give a decent reward. If you're giving out a few 100k it's going to make people who actually worry about money in VO feel a little bit anxious about participating, and you don't want that at all.

So talk to incarnate, I know damn well he's happy to solve the problem and spawn some magical capship parts or prizes or something for the winner of events, and lets get the participation levels up!

It was fun blowing up Sanan in his mining rig.

"Purity Control" wasn't participating, just in the wrong system at the wrong time...

Yes: still smoothing out some of the wrinkles in this event, but stealing ore from another miner is allowed, just so long as the ore has been freshly mined in the event sector during the event.

it shouldn't be stealing if it was dropped right in front of you and then snatched up by someone else.

Ah HAH! I KNEW Someone was stealing my ores! Damn it Snk, I could have been tied for first place! Could have been first if I didn't get stolen another time. Not bad for solo action.

Who said I stole your ore? The only time I got in a sample was when I actually mined, because RED was off fighting Nahin.

Did you get the lanth from me Phaser? I died just after dropping it in front of you. Not sure how many total samples there were.

Assuming there are more events like this at Sedina d14; how are you going to prevent cheating? What is to stop me from bringing 10 of each of those ores to the station in advance and delivering those to you during the event?
