DS Guild

Since our last thread got locked.....

This is a general purpose thread for us to make announcements and such.

****Notice******* until the reset, all Defense Ships will be offline. This is due to the usual "big bash" that has been going on now, and will continue until the reset. People have millions and want to spend it. Newbies can get millions so they don't go broke. Thus, we are not needed at this point, and the only time we might bring ourselves on-duty is to deal with an impostor (such as "DefenCe Ship 7"). Thank you, and have a nice day. :)

I will post this anyway even though the DS guild is offline for the moment because I think it is a good suggestion for the future.

Defense Guild ships often participate in "free for all" battles and other generally fun stuff. This is not a criticism, I am referring simply to players online having fun. But because DS also advertise themselves as guild members who have a particular goal and agenda, I feel this causes confusion for some players. Some players (not DS') seem to get confused because sometimes DS' willingly particapate in battle-for-fun and sometimes they don't. As we all know battle-for-fun can sometimes turn into tantrums-for-babies. When the battle-for-fun is over, those players who aren't happy about how things ended often start up beefs with prior participants.

Because of this and because I believe that the general idea of the Defense Ship Guild could be a good one, I would request that Defense Ship chars, log back on as other chars if they want to participate in "free for alls" or "battles for fun".

Which is exactly why I've decided that we're going offline until the reset, when such "big bashes" or "free-for-alls/battles-for-fun" become extremely rare or nonexistent.

There's gonna be a reset? WTF?

i agree with sally.
to put it in pseudo-military terms...
if a ds member wears her/his uniform (guild char) she/he should be very cautious as to what actions she or he takes.
police can't just randomly shoot suspects, either (or shouldn't).
will have to talk with SC on this...

*sigh* on most boards, opening up a new thread about the SAME subject as the old one causes one or more of the following actions to occur:
A) Gets said poster suspended/banned.
B) Gets said thread locked/deleted.

P.S.
You got your own thread locked so no complaining please.

P.P.S
For future reference, I use caps to emphasise certain parts of my post. Similar to bolding text.

I'm actually cool with it so long as it stays civil.

[2 flames deleted]

As I was saying: "I'm cool with it as long as it stays CIVIL". I meant "good-tempered". Perhaps people got it confused with Civil War? The other boards have actual "Flames" categories you could be taking this to.

hehehe...
Civil War...
hehehe...

anyhow, completely no need to flame this guild, if it isn't good, it'll die on it's own, if it is good, it'll stay.

/me is in relaxed mode

yeah.... domestic wars :-P

Anyways, FM, can I have the second half of my post back? I answered Tosh's concern and I forget what I said!

Sorry, no can do. Once I delete a post I can't get it back. Remember I'm dealing with chicken wire and twigs here, this isn't a fully-featured interface.

euhm cant you just copy paste everything to a little folder on your PC with the names of every poster of which you deleted a thread?

It isnt as if that is going to take that much space.

And you can say that you can delete it after lets say 3 months or so.

Not that difficult I would think :D

cheers

I'm afraid it would be quite inconvenient and time-consuming given the number of machines I use to check on the forums.

EDIT - I may be able to work something out on the actual site. I'll around with it a bit.

EDIT - We're OFF TOPIC!!!

if you use multiple pcs, put it on a little diskette. and every time that you go to sleep, just copy everythjing to your home/main pc, nicely ordered ;).

It will nullify all these complaints and it wont be that much extra work. just a couple of copy pastes, you arent deleting that many threads you know ;)

cheers

EDIT: I know, but I didnt start it. I just helped you solving a problem. you know, tha tis what my job is supposed to be :D. Hey 2 of us can edit you know :D. Euhm untill you close it that is "lol"
