Thanksgiving Race Event
I'd like to hold a race at one of the Sedina tracks, offering an SL prize to the winner of either of two categories.
1: The two categories are to be "Open" and "Moths". Pretty self explanatory, except SLs are be banned from this event, for the sake of those unable to attain them, or unwilling.
2: Participants will compete for place. Weapons are banned, unless we want some extra action after the awards (I could host a cash prize for those). All participants will arrange behind my ship at the start and go at my command, using any tactics they care for (no guns, mines, missiles, et al) to take the lead. The first place prize will be an SL kit, the second prize 5mil, the third prize 1mil for each category.
3: In the Open category, all ships, [edit]except national and factional ships and superlights[/edit], are allowed and weapons are forbidden. In the Moths category, all behemoth variants are allowed and turret gunners are allowed and encouraged (you split the SL how you want to if you win and have gunners). It might be fun to require a heavy cargo load to enter, but I'll leave that to discussion.
4: I plan to award a third SL kit in a raffle of sorts. Enter for 100k(discuss), the winners are drawn using a program (or a hat if I can't find one). The first drawn winner receives the SL kit, and the second drawn winner wins half the entry cash. I'll only do the raffle if ten or more people enter, otherwise I'll just draw for the SL.
5: I don't know about the date because I have to make RL arrangements and such, and I have to acquire some kits. >_> Aiming for Thanksgiving weekend, for activity's sake.
6: I'd appreciate it if the devs could prepare a pair of turkey widgets named "Fastest Fowl" or something classy/kinky for an additional prize. :p

B: If a participant wins both categories they will receive only one SL kit and the other will go to the second place winner of the Open category.
C: A category winner is not eligible for the SL drawing, but is for the cash drawing. If a category winner is drawn first in the raffle, then s/he will be awarded the half pot and the second winner of the raffle will be awarded the SL. If two category winners are drawn, there will be a redraw.
D: Nation and faction ships are not allowed.

P.S.: I know this is out of place, but what time is it that the forums display? Local time? UTC? Server time? It confuses me. Is there a way to customise it? I'm drunk.

The forum display time is US central time. Thanksgiving is the last Thursday in November, ~3 weeks from now. This is mainly a headsup and feedback post.
I will show up if I can make it. If I visit my family that weekend I'll being my n52 and joystick with and commandeer my brother's computer unless we're doing hardcore family crap. I do have a laptop, but it's ten years old and barely runs VO even with all the settings down. And the monitor is literally falling off. :P
Hmm, sounds interesting! I try to participate if event time will be OK for EU participants as well.
This sounds great.
I suggest you limit the "Open" category to Non-National Ships, so that Players with KOS standings with Itani and/or Orion aren't that disadvantaged.
