Atm there are 2 versions of PA in the game: PA itself and FAMY (PA with piracy option and created in TGFT labs). There's almost no difference between them.. 2 FFA guilds, perhaps they will unite into 1 in the future.
"There was basically nonstop fighting for the conquerable stations in the past fall/winter/spring."
Well it must've stopped whenever I logged on.

I guess so. [Itan] generally had more control over the stations on weekdays, and the CoN seized them on weekends.
You probably missed out because old vets often think the only action is in Sedina B-8, without realizing that there is more to the game than what people say in [100].

True, Announcing "hey I'm going to attack a station" in 100 isn't the greatest idea...
Good move, Grats!
A good TAG for a Guild with this purpos would be [FREE] ... or [ITC]

Guess I'm just in a bad timezone for it. When I'm subbed, I tend to start in B8, then hit each of the stations to see if anythings going on. Never seem to find one under attack, usually just 1 or 2 people afk.

Like I said, it failed largely due to politics outside the scope of the forum. (and which wasn't involving PA) My personal complaint was that we weren't regarded as anything other than the proverbial red-headed step children by some involved. When others work to undermine your position, but aren't providing anything material to the conversation, it never turns out well.
THAT is the real reason why we failed.
As I stated to the OP, Good Luck.

Keller, not to rehash old issues, but it should be noted that PA was part of those "conflicts" that you talk about. Nationalist members were constantly attacking other coalition forces. This lead to in-fighting (the brief war between ONE and PA), and in the end caused a general distrust between various parties. Politics were involved, but its not quite accurate to say PA had nothing to do with it.
Sigh* Well there goes another cool part of the game.

Tomorrow, November the 5th, we will celebrate 90 days since the liberation of Pelatus. Since its liberation over 150 Owner Keys have been distributed to the station in the C-12 sector, proving that a station can remain truly free to all with minimal conflicts. Additionally, the stations in Latos and Bractus have now been liberated with success. I thank all who have helped in this effort to promote true freedom, and in honor of 90 days since liberation I will be hosting a November 5th Liberation Party at 1700 GMT (/time in game). Deneb Rum, Serco Ale and Dau Wine will be available for consumption and all guests will recieve a SPECIAL DOOR PRIZE. To freedom! A FREE Pelatus! A FREE GALAXY!
From Pelatus With Love,

Remember, remember, the 5th of November the Pelatus Freedom Plot.
I know of no reason Pelatus Freedom should ever be forgot.

Don't forget to register the event so it appears in the in-game news.
So Vendetta adds conquerable stations, arguably the most significant update in the history of the game, and the players decide not to conquer them.

I get back to vo and what do I find? the most exciting part of the game besides straight out pvp is gone. wtf? DEVS MADE STATIONS CONQUERABLE FOR A REASON DAMMIT
idk about politics, was fun just duking it out. I remeber when I was in ONE stations were a refreshing break from boring ctc/bs where all we would do is fight bots 99% of the time.
in all, +1 to ghost, -1 to this stupid peace thingy that appeared outa nowhere...

Eh, I never found it very exciting at all. It was relaxing, in fact. Real PVP is what is exciting.
Have you ever been in one of those big fights over the station where there is tons of pvp? those r fun
Nope, the only fights around conq stations involve:
a) getting close to a repair ninny and letting them have it with swarms instead of the turret.
or
b) chasing down the rag that just killed all your repair ninnies.

I thought it was fun, especially when both sides had enough players that you could afford to throw a few fighters in to the mix.
They could get even more interesting if there was some way to fix the IFF on mines so you could actually deploy mine fields in a way that would be tactically useful.

fixing the mine IFF would be fine, as long as you also made the mines time out when a player docked (as opposed to the current system, where only one player can set the minefield, but can dock and reload to make it massive) It would encourage large groups to set up defensive perimeters without allowing them to create insanely large fields around a station that would be virtually impenetrable if they all stayed docked. Why would you even bother to defend the turrets if you could just have the same 3 people mine the F**k outa the station and then just sit there docked
No, that's what makes the mine fields cool. Hell, if you ask me, they shouldn't disappear even if you leave the sector. They're MINES. With only a 5 minute lifetime, maintaining a lightning mine field is a bit of a chore anyways. I think a better solution would be to make them targetable (without the use of hacky plugins)
I've cleared mine fields out at stations before. It's significantly easier than de-shielding a trident with avalons.

Does blowing a mine close to other mines trigger a chain reaction?
THIS would be pretty cool : ]
