In reply to Celkan's post:
I see no problem with that at all. Actually, the act of providing for a diplomat is every guild's own business, he or she will be recognized as the person to negotiate with, though.
Also, you will have to allow me to add you to the list of known diplomatic personnel, so that we (err... I, so far) know whom to talk to, if need be.
Also, as soon as i get the forum up and running, (i have no idea when this will be, probably along with the integration of factions and ff), you (the diplomats) will receive an access code with which you can enter the forums, post and discuss.
There will be put up embassies at the request of guilds.
hmm... i wonder if this will work when it really gets up and running... i give it a 40% chance of success, maybe 35.

How was the RAF named after a terrorist group? I thought it stood for "Royal Air Force." Perhaps my knowledge of terrorism is incomplete. Other than that, assuming your guild is sincere, it seems like a noble cause. An unbiased mediator of conflicts will be needed, just not right now. The guild is relatively useless until Guilds themselves and the politics involved with them become a bigger part of the game.

the acronym R.A.F. does indeed have two meanings. on one hand, it's the royal air force, on the other, it's the german terrorist group red army faction (Rote Armee Fraktion), notorious for abductions, bombs and such. it was prevalent in the 70ies and 80ies of the last century, in the german republic (BRD)
i will not delve into the group's past any further (i never identified the goals of my guild with theirs).
and as you (and i) stated, right now it is pretty much useless, but seeing that i have very little time to spend on things like providing a forum and stuff, it's better i start sooner than later.

Toshiro: I'm going to tentatively name Skadi (acct name Tempest here) as the diplomat, with me as backup. I have to check with him first, so I may end up doing it any way.
just a small off-topic note: tosh, you said you read the Singh book on Fermat's last theorem, did you read his one on codes? (The Code Book)
