A post to prove the ONE whiners are wrong
I said I would post this, so I did. A few members of ONE were complaining over 100 that the Deneb skirmishes were broke, that Itani capital ships could not lose their shields. So, I did a little experiment:

Seriously?! their best response to be absolutley destroyed this week is "it's broke"
Bull fucking shit
You know how many Itani capships I've watched burn this week (today including) Sure, many many many many many many more Serco ships have fallen to my hands but just because you robotic idiots can't organize a proper bombing run does not mean it is broken
Fail x100
Go away n00bs

ONE plays now?
ZOMG!
I've been doing some fights in deneb lately,
I had no problem to get rid a smurf trident of its shield except in one medium skirmish yesterday where i didn't even lower the shield from 1 percent, but that was just before being booted of vo so i blamed lag on this one.
However i've noticed that the AI in skirmishes is quite dumb (worth for both sides).
Once the fight has started, serco or itani keep sending every incoming capships escort to death : ASAP a trident jumps in it is sent to attack the ennemy HAC or connie alone without waiting for a terradon or another trident. (i dont remember if that was the usual behavior when i started to play a few years ago).
Another thing that i have found stupid in border battle or large skirmishes is that when a terradon has lost its shields it keeps attacking its target (mostly a HAC at 100% shield) instead of flying back to seek its own admiral vessel protection and wait until its shield are restored: Where are the tacticians gone?
My conclusion is that if you have only one or two players fighting in deneb, the result on the map depends only on a rolling dice.
Incarnate favoring the smurfs against toasters is not a new story, i remember hearing this when i started. I had never seen any proof of this. if sercos get the numbers to defend Deneb they usually succeed.
To get rid of suspicions, I think a cool feature to add on the web site should be a weekly summary of Deneb's battles indicating which side won and which players were there (plus the personal stats as we see them in the completed mission).
Last point, Waffles where did you get such an ugly hud skin? Do they force you to use this in [Itan]? XD

My experience in fighting solo in Deneb (several months ago) is that the lone rag bomber can easily (if slowly) tip the balance in his favor by eating Tridents.
I almost never did a Deneb fight that had other people in it, and when I did they were newbies, so I can't comment on what happens when there are two players.

it's not a dice roll at all you are showing inexperience in your conclusion.
Sure if you sit there and watch the npcs throw themselves at each other then the game decides but who is that boring and/or retarded
-Plan your attacks
-Bomb the larger ships WITH your attacking ships, this allows 1-2 people the ability to down an HAC or connie when you would normally need 3-4 players
-Prevent enemy players from bombing your own

I have repeatedly won large skirmishes by myself by a very large margin. Mediums are the hardest to win solo, but are by no means impossible. I have never lost a mission while solo (as in no opposing players either) that wasn't ridiculously behind, and then even some of those.
I've won mediums solo bombing with a hornet and 4x geminis. It's all about tactics and timing. What to attack and when.
Hmm, the large was a bit laggy , but my relative had no problems dropping a dozen tridents in med and small.
yea large skirmishes are pretty damn laggeh.
They run fine for me. I occasionally have to turn down the texture detail or resolution to get them to run smooth, but it seems to be a client-side problem more than anything.
There's a LOT going on in a large skirmish.
