Several days ago traveling through Latos I'm hailed by TGR-Bobba Zelios "Stop in the name of The Greyspace Republic! Bring your vessel to 0/ms". So I stop my Behemoth which is loaded down heavy hauling weapons since he's in a Warthog MKII and I'm still 4500m from my jump. We're in the middle of an asteroid feild. No further demands are relayed and I'm thinking wtf?. So I turn my ship to face Bobba he strafes to get out of my veiw so I turn again to face his new position. "STOP FACING ME!!" he /msg's. At this point I'm thinking any pirate that knows what they're doing would have fired a warning shot or at least issued a ransom of toll amount by now. The "stop facing me!" command was my last straw. I open up on him with my gat turret and swarms. Bobba panics trying to dodge gat fire and bounces off an asteroid and back peddles directly into a broadside of two volleys of swarm missiles. KABOOM! No more Bobba Zelios.

Uber FAIL.

The next day I'm stopped in Latos in the Sedina Wormhole sector by TGR-Gustav Ericson. Same stop command "in the name of BLEH BLEH BLEH halt your vessel yadda ya ya". I screwed up by going with a load out of only swarms this time. To top things off I'm hauling 40 Ultra-Charge Batteries I just purchased off the blackmarket. I slow a bit like I'm going to stop and kill Flight assist so I can turn the moth around a bit and let loose 4 volleys of swarms in 4 different directions. Gustav dodges a few but still goes BOOM trying dodge the rest. I go on my merry way again. That's TGR fail #2 if you're keeping count. Just after the explosion TGR-Bobba Zelios warps in. I've plotted my course through Latos to avoid roid sectors so I jump to H-16, Bobba follows. I fire away as soon as he warps into H-16, Bobba takes a few hits but survives with about 27-28% hull integrity. He gives chase and blows me up. I grab another moth in Ukari and race back to Latos H-16. I find 31 of my 40 UC batts still floating nobody in the sector but me so I scoop them up and haul ass. I'm headed back to my home station when I notice Gustav giving chase at the Latos/Ukari wormhole. I warp through while he's still well out of range. He follows me through. I make the jump to Ukari L-14 just as he opens fire, I get away again. A few mintues later on channel 100 I see. TGR-Bobba Zelios> NEWS: The TGR guild is temporarly dissolving until we and figure out who we are and what we're doing(or something to that effect). I chime in on 100 with "LMFAO!". Could the 2nd flop have been what killed TGR or was it just the last straw in a string of FAILS?
I send the message on 100 "booboo and Gusto are KOS to me until I get my 9 missing UC batts back. Seconds later Bobba is messaging me to come to Latos N-15 to get them. I pick them up and he apologizes for the "misunderstanding?"

But it's not over......

The next night in Latos once again...

I've been in AZEK for about an hour and a half mining Heliocene ore. I hate mining personally, it's boring, but I want the Heavy Miner II ship and that's the only way to get it. I go for the expensive ores because time should equal money.
I warp my Heavy Miner Moth into Latos from Azek planning to sell my 140cus of Heliocene in N-2 for the a good price. My sensors pick up 2 ships as I warp into the Latos side, Bobba Zelios in a Corvus Greyhound and Gustav Ericson in a marauder if I remember right. No more TGR guild tags though. I'm thinking... "You gotta be friggin kidding me lol" Once again Bobba Zelios hails, "Stop your ship immediately! Prepare to meet my demands. DO NOT FACE ME!"(<---he added this part from our first meeting I know:P) I'm thinking "Hey maybe he's finally figured this pirating stuff out, he's learning anyway." I stop and keep facing in the direction I'm pointed. In the back of my mind I'm thinking 30 secs till I can jump back through the Wormhole. Bobba starts 'dialoging' in Sector chat. "That's a big load Heliocene you got there Hawk! What do think Gustav? Yeah a bunch of Helio" I say "Yeah highly illegal Heliocene...." Couldn't think of what else to say, I'm just stalling, still counting, tic toc tic toc 15 secs gone. (I was unsure, are these guys pirates? are they wannabe VPR's trying to cut down on blackmarket trade? or do they think they own Greyspace and try to toll all traders?) Bobba keeps yapping in sector chat "Hmm 140cu Of Helio plus the ship, I'd say 250000 credits sounds about right. What do you think Hawk?" (Nice roleplaying btw Bobba) Now I'm now thinking he's f'ing nuts if he thinks I mined for an hour and a half just to walk away with 30000 credits.." This load is worth about 280000. TIc toc tic toc 30 seconds pass. So I reply "OK" and hit the activate jump button and warp back into AZEK. (I wish I could see their faces at this point). Both not thinking at all they open fire while I'm warping then realize I'm gone and follow. (Maybe they though the jump sound was a volley of swarms being fired and messed their pants?) Once we enter AZEK Bobba lands a few hits, not a good decision on his part, the UIT border turrets unleash on him. I'm at 62% hull integrity and trying like hell to turbo my way through the turret fire. Seconds later, KABOOM! Bobba Zelios and his 100000 credit Greyhound are no more. Gustav chases a bit but bugs out after taking a few turret hits. Gustav says something about thee sky being pretty. I reply "yeah the fireworks are great!" Once again The Hawk escapes with his ship and cargo from not one but two pirates? (or trying to be pirates anyway) FAIL.

But wait! There's more...

Bobba Zelios messages me the next day. He says he's giving up pirating(has he actually done any pirating? anyone? anyone?)and wants to give me another 40 UC batts to make amends. I'm apprehensive, thinking it's a trap. Who just gives away 40 UC's? No one. I head over in a Centaur MKIII just in case, I'll buy a moth once I'm there just to pick up the batteries, I can't get them without a hassle anywhere else. Certainly not free. Turns out he was sincere and gave me the UC's and apologized again. Said he won't pirate players anymore, just NPC's. I replied "It has to be more profitable than trying to pirate me heh"

If you kept track that was FAIL
FAIL FAIL FAIL and FAIL

Bottom line: If you want to be a pirate, you must be a good pvp fighter pilot first...
Don't waste time talking trash to your victim until they've paid or been blown up.
Control the situation- set the terms- keep yourself in a position where they can't see you.
They start to turn on you or run away open fire!
DON'T OPEN FIRE IN THE CENTER OF BORDER TURRETS!

Golden rule: Don't try to pirate other pirates. That's just wrong on a whole different level.

I don't try to pirate players often myself and when I do I usually fail, but I learn from my mistakes. I know I need much more pvp experience before I make another attempt. But my day is coming, until then I'll be making easy millions blasting npc's in grey every night.

Okay few things, half your story is bull crap mixed with some good looking stats and some exotic writing. Well done. So I wont bother with a lengthy defence, I'll just give an overview.

I popped you once and I had to re-learn how to dodge swarms once. I'm 10 months rusty and have been back playing a week so I was expecting a slip-up like that. I took TGR down a little while ago not because we were bad pirates or players ..(I don't know when your referencing with "a few days ago", but by last weekend it had been removed).. but because I felt it upset the VO community as a whole and especially when the "bots" issue crept up on the forums I felt enough was enough and took the whole thing down.

I gave you 80 UC's free because I felt sorry for you and the pain we caused you :) and I don't know what this "seconds later" crap is and Gustav's not my responsibility.. he's fairly new and I was helping him learn, they were nearly all new in TGR.

With the introduction of cargo scanners, you are right that NPC voys are indeed a lot more profitable to pop and I decided that and so it wasn't worth having people cry to me over their lost cargo, I messaged those whose loot I still had and refunded those I didn't.

I find it sad that you had to try and publicly humiliate me with bogus stats and stories to redeem yourself and I hope we can come to a better understanding in future. I think you can see I've been under a lot of fire recently and you're trying to take advantage of the situation. Oh and your memory span is so 'perfect' over these few days, distances, sectors, exactly what we've said.. sure you couldn't be accused of just plain slandering with no proof here Hawk..you've referenced an *awful* lot?

Cut me some slack, I'm just settling back down in VO and I'm certainly not quite as bad as you make out. I might not be the *best* at pvp out there, but i'm an atleast average pilot I feel I'm able to say and I'm always up to give someone a game.

-SLANDERING?-My memory is just fine. I wrote down sector H-16 because I had to return for my UC's, still written on a post-it in front of me atm, everything else took place in wormhole sectors, np remembering where those are. All told, the 3 incidents were so comical they'll be burned into my memory for some time to come. Maybe I wasn't exactly 4500m from the jump but maybe it was 4583m or 4501m, it was 4500m or so, if you feel that adds credibility, point was I stopped because I knew I couldn't outrun you. What I couldn't recall was exactly what type of ship Gustav was piloting during the you blowing up as a victim of UIT turret fire incident, I still think it was a marauder. Maybe you or Gustav could clarify that part? I didn't remember exactly what you said when you posted on 100 NEWS: TGR is dissolving until.... I wrote "or something to that effect." You notice no quotation marks on that comment in my tale.

On another note- I'm rusty too. Just returned from almost a year away from the game and I openly admitt I am probably one of the worst pvp'ers in VO. But I still racked up two kills piloting moths on two players in fighter craft trying to pirate me. Three if luring you into the turrets were to be counted, it should be as that was my intent(and it worked!).

What good looking bogus stats are you referring to Bobba? And you gave me 49 UC's total. I had the 40 I bought in Sedina (this would be from the 31 left floating in Latos H-16 and the the 9 you returned) I now have 78 total in my possession. So you giving me 80 UC's? Never happened. But thx for the 40 you did. Some stories are so funny THEY MUST BE TOLD.

For the record you've caused me no pain-until now- accusing me of lies and slander?-it's a game dude and I did compliment you on the role playing (IMO there's not enough of that in VO). Don't try to accuse me of slander please, there's nothing in my story that's untrue. The fact that it's true is what makes it funny as hell. As far as you catching flak lately I'm unaware of it, haven't wittnessed any.
