NW #228

Aug 22, 2010 Maalik link
Nation War

It took a while before people received enough damage that they were in danger of being picked off and thus before people were willing to engage heavily, but once this happened Grey seemed to be the most efficient about taking out their enemies. Grey won. Grats to Grey.

Next NW will be valk-free. We should breath some life into those threads in Suggestions.

NW #228: Racing edition

A night at the races.

Almost everybody in X1s made NW very longer than usuall. 10 min after start and whole UIT team was green...

To see how much ships unbalance war, I suggest that next NW to have 2 rounds. 1st normal, but 2nd will be bus-only, with those returning. But buses only can shoot after 1st round is finished, and 2nd starts.

Any EC bus valid, remaining NW rules apply.

I was suprised to see I was the only pilot in a Corvus Vulturius with pretty much every other pilot in some variation of the valk. It was kind of boring flying around in circles for 20 minutes to be honest... I think the valk free one next week will be alot more fun.

Axel Turnshaft, Niut'Likatisin, and Fferret were the only players not in X-1s.

oops.. forgot about NW! valk-free NW sounds sweet. also.. Alloh. Nation War and Bus War are different events. personally.. WTD, Valk(all variants) and SCP (all prom variants) banned from nation war would make for an interesting layout war.
i'll actually remember about it next week... doh

It's easy to complain about chasing when you're on the team that's organized 3-4 pilots on one target. It's part of group tactics to have to play the rabbit on occasion.

One could also learn how to fire guns without AA so that a turbo-ing target isn't so hard to hit...

At any rate, maybe banning the valk's with very low turbo drain is a better solution. It is a nice 3-light weapon platform that some people might still like to fly. Though, unless the wiki is out of date, it looks like that eliminates all but the Mk1.

I may, or may not, be able to fly next week.

In the next NW, everyone has to fly an Atlas with a gunner.

The Atlases must have no ports, and players should have an option to fly moths, too >:O

I know BusWar<>NW, but since almost everybody will be already there, in buses, why not? Can be very fun and show how is an equal-opportunity combat like.

Hmmm... May be a joke, but that turret-only battle is exactly the "pocket capship" event I allways wished. Teams with 2, 3 or 4 players, only weapons allowed are turrets.

Add a heavy load to ships and then we'll see how is to fly a capship. Notice capship pilots have NO guns! Moths plays heavy cruisers, atlas become light frigates (relative).

Yeah hit em without A/A than fly around in circles yeehaw. I vote everyone in a railrag for next NW. heh

The only (and I do mean only) counter to being the target of focused fire is to keep distance between you and your attackers. This mechanic will not change so long as the fundamentals of combat in Vendetta remain the same. Changing the ships only makes it less apparent, but the nature of the situation remains the same.
