True, that was a Lexicon-inspired, well, "church-like" poster like Shad said, intended to be "pure" and religious and direct. Just like Lexicon the Serco Zealot, some of you are perhaps too young to remember that unfortunate episode in the life of Vendetta-Online. Probably for the best.

But, anyway, at least it was original.

pirren - take some screen shots and use those as your background. You can't tell me that an imposing picture of the SMV Nemesis hovering with SkyCommand and Serco Prime in the background wouldn't be impressive. Then set whatever type you want, it'll still be better than recycled stuff you started out with.

Yes, to be fair, I've seen some of your other work and it's quite good. You chose a particularly horrible example to post in this thread, which was my (only) point.

There are some very nice screenshots in that batch, Chaakin. VO has selectively exquisite graphics. It's too bad that our asteroids and planets are so beautiful while our ships and weapons look like something out of the original Doom.

Aye, we could certainly use another 3d designer to redux our ships... specifically for the Centaur *shudder* I hate that model. If I could sketch I could probably jot down ten different more fitting designs for that ship on the spot.

List of ships that make me vomit every time I look a them:

Centaur
Hornet
Ragnarok
Vulture, both versions
Prometheus
Behemoth
Warthog
Trident frigate
HAC
Every single hive bot

On the positive side, the maud, rev, raptor, connie, and terrie all look pretty cool.

I'm actually a big fan of the Prometheus... The texture work of the vulture is actually pretty good, but it needs much better geometry. The trident, HAC, warthog, and behemoth are ok, but could use a rework. Same basic design (since these are mostly signature ships) but a little redux in the texture sector. The behemoth isn't in dire need of a redux but I can think of a better design to use:

I know that's from another game but it's a really common cargo ship design, that was the closest thing to my idea of "a whole bunch of cargo crates welded together."

Okay, I should have been more specific. Some of the ships I listed have bad models, some have bad textures, some have both.
