Argument fail, eh? You haven't been a noob in years, so I doubt you could judge that accurately. Anyway, just because they can make millions in an hour doesn't mean they actually do it. There's much more in VO to a new subscriber than grinding sunnies or gat cannons in grey . Most noobs I encounter are literally broke due to failed skirmishes etc.

Nevertheless, in general, you raised an interesting point with the bounty. I still contend that 250K was an upper limit, you still contend that it wasn't, so it's pointless to go any further. At least the thread got much better.

I think we're in agreement that 250k was what he was willing to pay for "a bounty"--the only issue is over whether we interpret that to mean whoever kills him first, or whoever kills him before he revokes his offer to pay 250k to anyone who kills him. I've laid out why I think the latter is the more reasonable construction, and you've argued for the former based off two points:

1. Noobs don't have a lot of money, thus multiple payments of 250k would be an unreasonable construction. I explained that they could easily make millions of credits (and they do, just by escorting), you gave anecdotal evidence of broke noobs. I think the takeaway here is that you can't claim as a universal truth that 250k is a lot of money for a noob--and we have some evidence that Chando's not broke in general, because he's carrying expensive cargo. As a side note, I've leveled many, many alts over the years, some of which are still well-known but dormant, others that are unknown but new and active. Even without pulling any tricks possible due to my advanced knowledge of the game, millions of credits are easy to earn, mainly due to escorts.

2. Even a single death must be meaningful because that was what what motivated our butthurt noob to post the bounty in the first place. Nicely done, I like the simple yet compelling logic of the argument--but I'm going to escape by arguing that "meaningful" has two very different definitions depending on who is being killed. A trader losing 100 cu of expensive cargo to a pirate will, as we see, find that single death "meaningful"--but BT, as a pirate whose ship is quite cheap and carries no cargo, will not find a single death inconvenient or expensive and it would thus not be "meaningful" to him.

Your summary is pretty accurate. Point 2) is undeniably correct, point 1) could still be argued (e.g. do they do escorts), but it's pretty clear that 1) we simply view this issue differently and 2) we're willing to continue to argue our views, which can't lead anywhere soon.

I think it is only fitting that I conclude my input by posting a 250K bounty on Chando Remaldo, payable to the first player who provides (somewhat credible) proof of kill, for failing to be more precise in specifying the terms of his, thereby provoking this debate. He'll learn a valuable lessen from this, so clearly it's a win/win.

Don't have much experience "discussing" issues with Lecter eh?

well since Chando did not post to deny my version, we can all assume sensibly my interpretation of the facts is correct.

: ]

more lines posted that shows the personality of the Bounty poser

1 ) he blathered on his way to sedina about pvp and clearly provoked players

2 ) he demonstrates that he had no intention of honoring the bounty

conclusion

1 ) he deserved his death in 1st place
2 ) he should be added to the kos list for not fulfilling a contract

Let's hope he'll bleed well : )
