UIT/SERCO TRADE NEGOTIATIONS STALLED
United Independent territories - Three years since it was initialed, the future of the trade negotiations between the UIT and Serco Empire remains in balance as the set deadline fast approaches.
Referred to as the UITSTA, is the only current trade agreement that can guarantee access to Serco military technology for the UIT, while providing luxury items not commonly available in many areas of the Serco Empire. However, the agreement today remains unsigned. This has put economic operators in an unpredictable and uncertain environment.
The Head of the UITSTA, Sinirus Sheret, said last week that It is of the utmost importance that negotiations of the final draft of the agreement are brought to a successful conclusion as expeditiously as possible.
"The legal vacuum that prevails cannot be sustained in the long run, and until this agreement is ratified neither side will benefit" he said.
Unfortunately UITSTA has not followed up on last years trade summit on Dantia V".
Sheret contends that the UIT remains committed to delivering a mutually beneficial agreement .
"We believe that even now, if we work hard together, we can deliver such a result by the end of the month. But this requires commitment from all involved parties, we must work together to find a mutually satisfactory solution", he said in a prepared statement .
Some trade analysts are arguing that the UITSTA would have negative affects on trade with the Itani.
"Unless proper agreements are adhered to and UIT military technology is not up for grabs, it is better to delay signing an agreement than sign and get to understand the content." said one BioCom official who is against the arrangement.
Both Parties agreed to accelerate and intensify negotiations in an effort to push through a full and comprehensive UITSTA for sometime in the near future.
The Itani government has requested that the UIT do not enter into the trade agreement but UIT have dismissed the request.

PEYTROS ARRESTED FOR CRIMES AGAINST ITAN NATION
Notorious pirate and murderer, Peytros... was taken into custody earlier this evening on a multitude of charges. The charges stem from several incidents where in it is alleged that Peytros forced two hundred Itani citizens into the cargo hold of a Behemoth XC and flew in tight circles while engaging the ships turbo for hours before flying as close as possible to a Red Dwarf star and opening the cargo hold... jettisoning the terrified and dizzy Itani into space.
Itani defense forces tracked him to a bar in a Corvus controlled sector of Sedina where he was allegedly involved in unseemly conduct involving Sedina strippers, narcotics, seventeen live mutated eels and a box of chocolates.
When asked why he killed the two hundred innocent civilians he responded...
"It was for science... I wanted to determine wether an average Itani jettisoned into space, in close proximity to a Red Dwarf star... would freeze, asphyxiate, burn or die in some other fashion... I'm sure you can see how this experiment benefits the entire universe and brings us all closer to peace."
... Peytros is being held with out bail until he can be evaluated to determine if he is fit to stand trial after having requested that he be represented in court by a Fennus Observer bot which has allegedly been following him and broadcasting instructions into his head.

Itani Colony Destroyed, 950000 Confirmed Dead
Late yesterday evening an unknown force attacked and destroyed the colony on Atura in the Jallik system. High ranking Itani officials are reporting that nothing survived the assaalt, even animals and bacteria were killed. The 950000 colonists all seem to have been killed with a type of highly advanced particle weapon, the likes of which has never been seen. Upon receiving the the initial distress call five military units were deployed to Atura. Upon reaching the planets surface, the mission commander reported seeing bodies of men women and children littering the streets. Shortly after the first report another transmission was made. Badly garbled as though it were being scrambled the Commander was franticly requesting back up units, weapons fire could be heard in the background. In addition one chilling word was heard repeatedly in a high pitch keening voice... Exterminate.
Communication, as well as hope of finding survivors was lost.
Security sensors recorded what appeared to be four bio-mechanical entities enter the colony and remain for the duration of the assault. Though who or what they were remains a mystery.
One IDF officer on the scene had this to say... "I have no words to describe what happened here, the sheer brutality of the attack is beyond comprehension. This wasn't an act of war... this is genocide, pure and simple."
The psychic resonance of the deaths and the forces behind them was so great that several high level Itani monks in Eo felt the effects. One monk has slipped into a coma and yet another was so overwhelmed by what he felt that he went mad and attacked the Patriarch of his order and then took his own life. The Patriarch was quoted as saying...
"Clearly this is a great evil we face, a far greater evil than any we have faced before. Sadly, I am certain this will not be an isolated incident and I fear it may spread to UIT, Grey and Serco space. I sense it is an ancient yet malevolent intelligence, one that is driven to destroy life. To seek out that which is new and different, and kill it. I will pray for all people of all nations tonight."
In the absence of facts, rumors are running rampant... some claim the attack was the work of the Serco, others say the Order of Akan and still others say that it was likely a Corvus raid. The Itani government and military are however, adamant in their belief that this attack was carried out by a new enemy. All evidence suggests that the attacking force numbered no more than four members and that their weapons were beyond even BioComs, Ineubus or TPGs considerable capability. Another puzzling fact is that investigators can find no evidence of a landing sight or point of egress for the assailants. The Itani government is asking that anyone with any information in regards to this cowardly attack come forward immediately.

Scattered reports are filtering in from many sources that the Itani Defense Forces crossed into Serco space in the early hours of the morning making what the Itani government claimed were precision planet side attacks on several "targets of strategic importance". However, UIT action news crews in the area discovered that the targets were actually several Serco refugee camps a school and a hospital. In total 17,346 Serco were killed including children. Of the dead only 11 were military personal 5 of which were medics.
The Itani government is claiming that the strikes, which they do not deny...were against actual military targets and that the IDF has never and will never target, much less kill civilians.
All evidence does however indicate that the targets of this attack were in fact civilians, which has led many people to question the Itani side of the conflict. Naturally journalistic ethics and concern for their well being forbid me from revealing my sources by name. However, I can say that the sources include officials from the "Serco Medical and Maintenance Coalition" as well as Several Itani monks from the organizations..."The Brotherhood of Eo's peace" and "Eo's Brotherhood of Peace" The reports were independently confirmed by several UIT traders who were in the vicinity as well as two high ranking Itani government officials speaking on the condition of anonymity for fear of reprisal. One of the officials theorized that the attack is due to the suspected infiltration of the Itani Defense Forces by the "Order of Akan". When other Itani officials were asked to comment on the infiltration, which allegedly goes to the highest ranks of the IDF...most simply replied "no comment". However, one high ranking IDF suggested a personal meeting in the Edras system.

A firefight broke out early Monday evening within the NFZ outside the UIT Senate complex in Dau. It was reported that a Serco Viper operative attacked and destroyed two council members from the Coalition of Itan. No official duels were registered prior to the engagement and UPK strike forces were dispatched to handle the situation.
Eye witness accounts report that the ITAN council members were aboard an atlas trading vessel. One UIT senate member had this to say, "I was very surprised to find a fight outside my window, I was even more surprised to see a VPR attacking a trade ship." No official statement has been received from VPR representatives.

IDF revokes licenses of 'fake pilots'
The licenses of 14 pilots have been revoked by the Itani Defense Ministry after they were allegedly proved to be flying with fake documents.
A police probe found a high ranking officer had issued "fake records" of their training sessions. Earlier this month the licenses of seven pilots were canceled because of fake certificates. Currently the IDF has suspended the licenses of 4,000 pilots pending an investigation for irregularities.
One official said that the police had discovered that the officer in question had issued fake records of training sessions for at least 14 pilots with known connections to the Order of Akan.
"Based on the police reports, we have revoked the licenses of 14 commercial pilots, and are investigating 4000 others" an Itani admiral said.
There have been a series of scandals involving Itani pilots recently -including alleged ties to an AoA raid on Serco refugee camps- even though the nation has a relatively good safety record.
Earlier this month authorities said that they were taking action against 57 pilots who had reported for duty drunk over the past two years.
Over the same period there have also been reports of pilots falling asleep while flying and pilots fighting with ground crews.
The public outcry over these issues has been astounding. One Itani official had this to say...
"This is unacceptable, this is the kind of thing you expect to hear about with the Serco or the UIT... but we, we are the shining beacon of civility. We are better than this, and there had better be consequences."

A UIT Supreme Council member and member of The Propeller Group has dismissed three arrest warrants for former President of the BioCom corporation, Zeka Conretas.
The move allows Mr. Conretas to return without detention to the Union of Independent Territories, where he was implicated in terrorist attacks on a Serco refugee camp, crimes against the Itani nation and violation of UIT senate law.
UIT judge Ecka Chincillako says Mr. Conretas still faces corruption charges, and that he plans to launch an investigation into why the arrest warrants were dismissed.
Meanwhile both Itani and Serco diplomats are furious over this move and are demanding explanations. This is some what historical, as the two warring nations have not agreed on anything since the Itani first left Sol II.
Mr. Conretas has said the all charges are politically motivated and he wanted them dropped.
He currently lives in the lawless regions of Gray space controlled by the outlaw crime syndicate Corvus.

These sorts of stories are a tough call. I don't know if there was any activity in Pyronis, it is not possible to capture a station there, and Lady Serco (May She Reign Forever) is not actually part of the storyline. I could probably get behind it if I knew a group was out there infiltrating Pyronis and that this was a bit of a taunt.
I don't understand why they're tough calls... they don't involve any actual player (excpt one about Peytros, which he liked nd was not offended by.) guilds, they're not offensive, they're in keeping with the back story. They are simple basic non PC RP news stories.
Maybe you could give some guide lines for RP news articles that do not involve PC's and guilds?

I would argue that "Lady Serco" is a part of the storyline, in that she is referenced in many players RP's both in and out of game. Though she isn't written into the back story, she has in point of fact been a part of VO's mythos nearly since her creation.
